Excellent gloves

I love these gloves. They fit well, are moisture wicking and have grippy padding on the inside which helps when using hiking poles. The touchscreen works well. Fingertip areas are nice and rounded (no weird pointy tips). Fleece lining is nice to touch. Depending on the temperature I wear them alone or as liners for my mittens, usually both at various parts of my winter hikes. I’ll be purchasing another pair.

Nice gloves, but wish they had a 3XL size

I got the largest size they had (2XL). They are tight on my hands. Hopefully they will make a 3XL. If they do I will definitely buy them again.

Attractive gloves

Have not used yet but good looking. Fit is on the big side, even though I measured my hand and used their chart so I suggest ordering down one size. Not sure how they will wash upnyet, although I do know I will hang dry, not put in dryer.

These inner gloves are useless. My hands nearly froze when I wore these on Kilimanjaro. I wrote these and a pair of outer gloves from decathlon. It was all so so so bad.

Nice impermeability

Great comfort and impermeability

Comfortable and good value

Good, comfortable and keeps my hands warm to about 5 degrees or so. Also I can use my phone while wearing them. I bought 2 pairs, one for myself and one for my partner.

Nice pair of gloves for the winter

Really happy with the purchase. Provides a nice snug fit and keeps your hands warm in the winter. The touchscreen-compatible thumb and forefinger grip makes it easy to use your phone or smart watch while wearing the gloves which is a great feature.

Unbelievable quality and value for money.

i replaced my £35 north face gloves after they split after 6 months with these gloves. I can’t believe how far superior these gloves are in every way.

My favourite gloves

These are so comfortable, great at keeping the windchill off your hands without overheating them. Really grippy and l like that l can use my phone without taking them off. I bought them for hiking but l use them everyday!

Good gloves

These have been well used daily and washed frequently, I highly recommend these gloves. The quality is superb, have some branded gloves that have not lasted this well.

Keep you warm up are made large

The gloves are good and do what they say but they large in size. I got a med and then a small - both are too big for me. I normally wear a med ladies size

How to protect your hands from the cold in the best way possible?

In the same way you wear several layers of clothing when backpacking, you can wear liner gloves under your gloves, that will act as a thermal base layer. This multi-layer system lets several layers of air to form around your hands, efficiently insulating them from the cold! Remember to wear large enough gloves to prevent your fingers from being constricted. Compression reduces blood circulation in the fingers.

Suitable clothing

When active, the body creates heat, which is maintained via the garment's thermal insulation. If your clothing is unsuitable, the body will get colder and blood flow to the hands will drop in order to retain heat in the central core. Gloves and clothing must be adapted to keep hands at a comfortable temperature.

How is usage temperature measured?

All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their warmth level. The minimum temperatures for use (recommended and limit) are the result of a study carried out with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 41°F to -4°F and 6 mph winds. These temperatures are only valid in walking conditions. The Trek 500 gloves are given a warmth rating of 1 out of 5.

Glove dexterity

The dexterity of a glove is its ability to handle objects. Our Trek 500 gloves have been scored in a laboratory. The closer the glove's dexterity is to 5, the more the glove can handle objects in the same way as the bare hand. For example, we have tested the ability to put on and open a jacket, to handle objects in bivouac, to eat and drink wearing the Trek 500 gloves. The Trek 500 gloves are given a warmth rating of 4 out of 5.

Easy to put on

Pull the wrist strap with the opposite hand to put them on quickly and efficiently.

Got your liner gloves caught in the rain?

If this happens, then dry them in a dry place, but avoid placing them on a heat source. This could damage the fiber and they could lose their shape!

Product testing

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont-Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, our designers create and develop products that are good, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field because we believe that the only way to continually improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience.
