Best way of getting around town

Bought the Town 9 to use on and off the tube around London. Then the day after I bought it lockdown, oh dear. It sat in it's nice bag I also bought for about three weeks, considered Ebay. Couldn't be bothered selling it so went out with my daughter on it, she was on her bike. I'm so glad I kept it. I'm 46, go to gym, like looking after myself, you wouldn't think I'd be on a scooter lol. I dont have a self imagine problem at all but if you do, fear not this thing is cool as hell and will boost your cool level. Build feels really solid, its pretty heavy to carry but you dont notice scooting. Smooth ride seeing wheels are solid, suspension is just enough. The bag you can buy for extra £10 is really perfect fit, good buy, it is a perfect fit and easy to put in if you know how. Always put bars right down and make sure the handle bar end is the orange end of the bag then zip the other end up a bit and push the scooter up against it, then zip it, perfect. Handle bar grips perfect, colour really nice, so easy to fold, use your heel to push the button to fold it's more comfortable. Carry the scooter with handles facing the floor, it's easier. Make sure the quick release on the handle bars nice and tight as it will slip down if it's not tight enough. Not to tight. I usually cover about 5 miles with my daughter on a trip out, it's a great way chat together, better than bikes, its casual and you can scoot in your best clothes. Do yourself a favour, it's the most fun you'll have for £149, buy it and use it. Its the future of personal transport and fun round town.

No regrets !

Thought the price is a bit steep but I have no regrets getting this for my 14 year old son’s birthday. It is more stable than the previous kickscooter he had.

Smooth Ride

It's a smooth and stable ride on this commuter scooter. Easy to fold and store too. One only downside is that, it is kinda heavy. But overall it's still good.

Hi Hafilah!

Thank you for your review for the Town 9 EF V2 Adult Scooter - Petrol Blue!

Yes, definitely! This scooter is very easy to fold for better mobility. Do you know, the folding mechanism is designed in a way that you can fold it really fast in just 1 second? Awesome right? The weight of the scooter is contributed by several factors. To improve stability and comfort, soft suspensions are added and also the stepping board of the scooter are purposely made wider to increase room in the foot area. However, with the suspension added and stepping board made wider, it is still proportionate in the size - wight ratio to improve user's mobility.

I hope you enjoy your purchase and have a good day!

Great to scoot around with.

Very smooth and comfortable scooter. Ride was smooth on tiled surface as well as road. The front and rear suspension works great to absorb small bumps on the road to make ride a comfortable one.

Hi Lim!

Thank you for your review for the Town 9 EF V2 Adult Scooter - Chlorophyll!

Definitely! This particular scooter is crafted and designed to be used for mid-long distance (2-4 KM). To be able to do that, a soft front suspension is added to this scooter to provide the comfort when going through bumps on the roads.

I hope you enjoy your purchase and happy scootering Lim!

Good service

Just to compliment Nicholas from Singapore Lab. Was very patient and knowledgable on skate scooters. Makes buying the product more pleasant. Well done Nicholas. I had tested the product. Its firmer for my weight 85kg, more stability.

Value for money and easy to fold and less heavy

I bought it end of January 2020 I do enjoying but the transparent plastic plate in front wheel is very noise special when ridding in bumping surface other than that is great stuff

Good product

Overall is a good product. There is one issue to be improved; the rattling noise from the rear foot brake or the plastic mud guard while gliding on uneven pavement.

Almost a perfect scooter, almost

I've been through two cheaper scooters I bought on Amazon (£60 region) and both broke. I decided to spend the extra on this and also have a store I can return to if I have issues. Being a somewhat seasoned scooterer, I can tell you, this scooter is brilliant. It rides smooth, it turns well, the bearings are smooth, the build is solid. I love the wider wheels also as they are less prone to going down cracks so it feels much safer on pavements. To counter some negative reviews... This scooter is slightly more effort to push due to its heavier build but I feel like this is marginal at best. The weight is a fine price to pay for the quality. Also, no scooter is going to glide on the street like it does on a mirror smooth shop floor, be real. Now onto the cons... The rear brake is badly designed, the plastic cover and the metal plate rattle against each other. I ended up taking the rear wheel out so that I could wedge some gorilla tape between the two parts and this stopped the rattling. For the price, I wouldn't expect such a trivial fixed problem to exist in the first place. The other con for this scooter is a lack of carry strap, sure you can get a bag, but an always attached strap should really be covered in the price. Overall though, if you're willing to tinker to sort the rattle, then this scooter is fantastic, would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the rattle.

Totally awesome.

When riding this, I can feel the diamond quality, Excellent: ride, suspension, hand brake & rear mud gaurd break, bell, Ergonomic grips, (I fitted my own lights

Get this. Not the others.

Wow. I'm so glad to report that I made the right purchase decision. I researched so long and queried the staff so much, deciding between Town 9 EF V2 (a whopping S$240 for a China-made scooter) and Town 7 EF V2 (on sale for bland colour module at S$150, UPS$220). The latter is similar in design to the former, just that Town 7 completely lacks suspension. Thus, it's not too different from Town 9 EF V1. I was deciding whether the extra weight of T9 and its high price tag were acceptable cons, and I'm happy to say yes. The dual suspension makes gliding over those darn yellow dots and uneven surfaces on Singapore pavements a buttery smooth experience. SERIOUSLY. I hardly feel the cracks and holes in the ground! I was worried that the weight and suspension might make speed an issue. Luckily, my kicks are still able to send my T9 gliding reasonably far. I was thinking that T7's significantly lighter weight and stiff wheels (no suspensions) would make it more portable to lug around via public transport and glide greater distances with each kick. However, the reviews for T7 made me think twice as there are reports of total unusability/impracticality in real life commute situations (i.e. over uneven surfaces). Furthermore, I have a micro scooter from my childhood that has no suspensions, and I know that it's nearly impossible to use for daily commute on pavements. I was thinking T7, though also like the micro in lacking suspension, might be a different story as there bigger wheels might help. But apparently not, as the T7 reviews tell me that vibrations are still an issue. So, all in all, GET THIS ONE. The Oxelo Town 9 EF V2. It absorbs vibrations superbly and still glides well, and isn't terribly heavy in trolley mode. Oh, there's also the Town 7 XL, which features dual suspension and is much cheaper than T9. But WATCH OUT! The stem folding isn't 1 second, the handle bars are super bad for folding, and worst of all, the deck is waaaaay too high! This high deck clearance would kill your quad thigh muscles! Too much bending needed. Go for the Town 9, which has dual suspension, folds beautifully, and has a comfortably low deck.

Smoother ride

I have both versions of Town 9. This version with the rear suspension gives a smoother ride. However it is also heavier, and takes more energy to move.

Hi Lee Mun Tai,

I appreciate your feedback on our Town 9 Scooter. I hope you are safe riding our scooters.

It was manufactured heavier to cater more stability and comfort for your riding needs.

Yours Sportingly,

Is really cool I wish the government will lift the band on the electric scooter so that movement will be much easier

Are there any particular safety precautions to take when using the town 9 scooter?

You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering. Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: take the time to learn the basics of use to master speed and braking in any emergency situation and whatever the weather conditions (particularly on wet terrain).

How do you fold/unfold the scooter?

Hands-free and in one second! This is the Easyfold design. What's the trick? Simply stand opposite your scooter with the frame straight in front of you and press the pedal, and your Town 9 is folded in less time than it took you to read these instructions. Just as easy for the handles. Just push the buttons to fold them. And unfold them in one second!

Is the oxelo town 9 scooter suited to long journeys around town (1.25 to 3 mi.)?

Yes! The rubber grip on the deck and the ultra-comfy ergonomic handles with palm rests help reduce vibrations for a more pleasant ride. The TOWN 9 adult scooter also has a bell so that you can make yourself heard. Last but not least, the handlebar is slightly forward for better steering control.

What is the glide performance of the oxelo town 9 scooter?

We have equipped this adult scooter with large 200 mm HIGH BOUNCE PU rubber wheels for high-performance scootering. A large wheel makes it easier to build up speed with minimum effort. The ABEC 7 bearings are very high quality and, by making it easier for you to push yourself along, limit fatigue.

How much does the town 9 scooter weigh?

14 lbs., making it easy to move in "trolley" mode: fold it up and drag it along like a suitcase.

What is the maximum weight the town 9 scooter can take?

220 lbs.

What safety precautions should you take with the town 9 scooter?

We recommend checking your scooter before and after each ride to ensure that there is no abnormal play and no cracks or sharp edges.

What should you do if there's play in the handlebar?

What with bumps in the road, repeated jarring and vibrations, it's normal for certain parts to come loose. You can have all of the screws tightened at your local Decathlon workshop or do so yourself with the Allen keys provided (designed to fit all of the scooter's parts).

How are our products tested?

All of our scooters have been lab-tested. These tests check compliance with the European standards for scooters, as well as looking for wear. For example, one of our tests involves a machine folding the scooter 10,000 times to check its folding system. As well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.

How should you maintain your scooter?

The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if necessary. You can repair and extend the lifespan of your scooter with spare parts that can be ordered through your local Decathlon store's Workshop.
