Good but not perfect

After 3 weeks of use in hiking, climbing and mountaineering and after using two other bags, I have an informed opinion and I hope that a product manager will read my opinion ;) On the positive side, the bag is great, well light, well accessorized, large and practical. The portage is good without being excellent (I am 2m tall). Impeccable ice ax holder with blade protection, the strap for hanging the rope is great, quite a few pockets, including the outer one on the front (safety for ski touring) very large On the negative side, the back of the bag tends to deform a little depending on the load and the distribution in the bag, the top of the bag (the flap pocket) tends not to completely fold over the top (if it rains/snow, it can come in interior), it lacks a hose protector on one of the straps and ESPECIALLY, the compartment for the water pocket inside is too small (short) and prevents the use of the small internal zipped pocket. I also already have two holes at the bottom of the outer pocket which fortunately communicates with the main part of the bag (unstitched perhaps). And finally, the elements along the abdominal belt move around a lot and it is not easy once the bag is on the shoulders to "fix" them with the small hook on each side

The mushroom is permanently off the hook

The two handles of the backpack are taken from a non-rigid part of the back, if it is not full the backpack always folds forward, no previous backpack had this system, they were always attached to the rigid part of the back so that they do not fold the backpack

Not very practical

Good bag, can be improved

The bag is functional, light and strong, and has a good price/quality ratio for a first mountaineering bag. It still has a few possible improvements: - no side pockets/nets for water bottles/small equipment, that makes it less versatile for short hikes - the hood does not fit well and leaves a gap between its inside edge and the back of the bag when the bag is not full, which can cause water/dust infiltration inside - the belt pocket does not hold well and regularly falls off the strap

Mountaineering backpack Alpinism 40 + 10 l SIMOND

Mountaineering backpack Alpinism 40 + 10 l SIMOND I did not expect that a week of snowboarding was also good. Compression drawstrings perfectly adjust the size of the backpack to the contents. The zipper in the back of the backpack provides quick access to a change of jersey, a piece of foam to sit on in the snow and other necessary small items. I recommend

Well made backpack

It fits well and is comfortable. The only flaw is that the abdominal gear holders don't always stay hooked. For the rest fine

A good backpack

The jacket wears well, it is functional, it is versatile.

Where's the whistle?

Hello, only one complaint, and not the least, why there is no whistle? Amazing! you know, that safety element, the one molded with the chest strap clip! Nevertheless, I'm going to use this bag for a week of ski touring trekking, and it should give me full satisfaction.

Great bag for…

Excellent bag for ski touring or mountaineering raids. Easy to use and many options. Slight loss of comfort with a large load but nothing very negative. Extra point: I also use it on short trips. It goes in carry-on luggage, and the back opening allows for organizational comfort.

the pocket dedicated to…

the pocket dedicated to safety equipment (shovel, probe, knives) is very practical and allows you to separate this equipment from your belongings. tested in ski touring

Light, capacious and thoughtful

A perfect backpack for someone who is looking for a light and capacious backpack with the possibility of attaching skis, ice axes or snowshoes. The detachable back is a revelation. The carrying system is fine for such a lightweight structure. People who describe problems with the upper flap do not understand the removal of the 3 straps from the back side. After removing them to a minimum, you can wear an empty backpack and the flap holds as it should. I have Deuter backpacks and of course there is a better carrying system, but the weight of the backpack itself times three. If someone is looking for a backpack to go out with 25 kg of luggage, this backpack is not for him. Ultralight but very capacious and well-thought-out backpack.

Backpack

On x day trek. A little too massive, but still relatively light backpack. Front pocket for a shovel. Although I have never used the side opening of any backpack, this back opening is addictive :-). Yes, and the same reason + hundreds of extra grams. A relatively sophisticated backpack with a lot of technical gadgets. Although I prefer the more compact 33-liter variant, if I don't pack in it, I take this one :-) For tourists, it won't lack pockets, but it won't get in the way when moving in rocky terrain, and you can even climb with it.
