can you add on a piece of cloth in the front to cover the face? definitely needed for full day kayaking

Which standard must a cap meet in order to qualify as "uv-protective"?
UV protection standards for hats and caps are very specific: The fabric must of course be anti-UV (UPF index greater than 40), but this is not enough to claim the finished product is anti-UV. The headwear also needs to protect the back of the neck and there must be no visible openwork fabric through which the sun's rays can penetrate. This Trek 900 cap meets these standards so you can go hiking with complete peace of mind: you are perfectly protected!
Water-repellency or waterproofing, what is the difference?
Water-repellency is the ability to enable water to form droplets on the surface. The faster the water runs off the fabric without soaking in, the more it is water-repellent. The cap does not soak up water and remains light. In the event of a major rain shower, water will not build up and will not soak into the cap. On the contrary, waterproofing is the ability NOT to allow water (rain, snow, dew, damp, etc) to penetrate.
How to reactivate the water-repellency of my cap?
A fabric becomes water-repellent thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. However, this treatment must be applied regularly, using products sold in our stores, to maintain performance To reactivate the water-repellency of your product, you can: iron the affected areas (temperature < 284°F), use a tumble-drier (suitable temperature and duration; do not over-heat) or use a hair dryer on the cap, once it is dry.
