This is excellent quality and has great straps and back, however, I hate its design. The design is cleaver but it does not work for me. The outer compression straps get in the way of the zips of the easy access pockets. If you leave the straps undone they flap around. I also like to be able to rummage around and pull anything out I need and this is difficult. For example to get a laptop out, the easy access flap is not big enough and the whole back structure needs to be undone and then all the other contents has a good chance of falling out. Also the top 'brain' lies awkwardly if it is not clipped on and exposes the security compartment. Overall, it is a good try at doing something better but in my opinion it does not quite work but it might for you. The quality is excellent.
I have used the backpack for air and rail travel and not trekking, so the review will be biased towards that. This bag does not have any convenient outside pockets to store documents or things which are required immediately without having to open the main bag. Second, the top of the bag has an odd opening with a zip which is good to store some items of early use but larger enclosed items tend to fall out if opened in a hurry while travelling. This top part also has a small zippered pocket in its bottom surface which is good. Third, the main compartment of the bag opens like a suitcase, which is good, but when you open the bag to pack you realise that there are no side 'containing walls' as in a suitcase, so while you can layer large items one after another but the small items drop off the edges till you close the zip and then it becomes like any other top opening rucksack. A zipped compartment in the inside bottom of the main compartment makes it convenient to stow away used clothes as well as the rain cover of the ruck sack. A longish side pocket is convenient to store long items and even slippers. There is also a zipped pocket in the waist belt which is a nice touch. A secret zipped pocket on the inside surface could have enhanced it's value. Lockability of the main compartment is suspect as it has two openings. Overall quality of material appears decent though the plastic used for clasps could have been of better quality.. Shoulder padding, supports, waist belt are good Overall, an average product for the price and not all that convenient since overall capacity is just 40 litres. A good point is that it can be taken as cabin baggage within weight limits.
While overall quality is okay, there are some issues: 1. Side straps are not very strong. 2. Packet on the back is not suitable for laptop, there is no cushion there. 3. Rain cover should have been at the bottom which could act as a cushion. 4. The main zipper should have been on the top for better handling and convenient access. Since it is close to back side, it is not very convenient. 5. Side water bottle pocket is quite weak.
Wanted a rucksack like this, with a laptop slot in it. Perfect for me.

Bought for my daughter as a school bag. Good strong piece of kit. It holds all her school work and sports kit with room to spare. She loves it and will also be using it on expeditions with scouts.
Great product, big enough for a week trip.

Mass-dyeing (Dope Dye) involves introducing pigments during manufacturing of the thread and reduces the water-related environmental impact of the dye (significant consumption and pollution). Environmentally-friendly dyes are available. This process can reduce the CO2 impact by 40% compared to traditional dyeing methods.
In 2019, Delphine, our backpack engineer, selected a fabric for the inside of the backpack using the dope dye process. As such, the backpack uses 12% less CO2 compared to traditional dyeing methods. We are aiming for a 100% eco-designed backpack so we already have areas for improvement! In 2020, the outer sides of the backpack will switch to using the dope dye process to reduce its carbon footprint even more. By 2021, 100% of the bag fabric will be dyed using this process.
Begin by adjusting the lumbar belt. The bag's weight should sit mainly on your hips. Then tighten the shoulder straps to bring the bag's weight toward your back. Attach and tighten the chest strap then tighten the smaller straps above the shoulders so that the back sits perfectly on your back.
Suitcase-style wide opening. A big internal compartment in the bottom of the bag (for shoes or laundry for example). An inside net pocket and on each side of the big compartment. A zipped belt pocket (perfect for having your phone at hand) Water compartment against the back (could also be used for a laptop)
The bag comes with a rain pocket waterproof to 2,000 mm (Schmerbers) This is equivalent to a rain shower of 60 L per hour per square meter.
We have tested the durability of the parts in our laboratory by replicating intense usage of the loaded bag. Our bag resisted 10,000 drops from 20". The bag was filled to 40 lbs
