Not warm enough

The rating of 10 I was told meant you could technically sleep without clothes inside and be comfortable in 10deg. I put this to the test and it is not true. I had 3 layers of clothes on and the sleeping bag is like paper. So thin and doesn’t keep you warm at all. My son was very comfortable and warm in his $20 Aldi sleeping bag though.

Poor Quality Zippers

The right side zipper splits at the slightest bit of movement resulting in me loosing any warmth from the bag. I have had great experiences with decathlons other products but I think it would be better to spend a little bit more on a more reputable brand. Gave two stars because it comes with its own compression bag and packs down pretty small.

Very good, could be better......

I start by stating that I am 6'1" tall, and 48" chest, and was having trouble finding a sleeping bat to fit me. Having tried others, I gave this one a chance, (XXL) being a trusted Decathlon buyer, (although sizing can be an issue). I was pleasantly surprised by its length, and would have given it a 5 star rating if there had been a little more chest room, that said, it was loads better than others. I immedietly got out my sleeping mat, and got into it in our freezing cold conservatory, (Icy conditions outside, with the windows open!) to give it a test. I stayed there for over an hour, as warm as toast! I intend to use this bag over spring, summer, autumn, in my tent, and see no issues with this bag.

Product is very good. Easy to fold and pack. Eas of carrying in bag which come along with it. Price is on higher side, price should have been anywhere between 2500-2700. Next width should be increased by another half feet to ease movement inside.

Worth the money - One time investment

I used for Agasthiyar/ Podhigai Malai trek - 2nights & 3days...after the 1st day of trek, next day morning asked my co-trekkers how you all slept last night. They said they had a broken sleep due to cold weather & chill wind. But i did not know anything during my sleep about the temperature & had a comfortable sleep. If your size is L means go pick XL size sleeping bag for comfortable sleep. Thanks

Use temperature

All our sleeping bags display the temperature rating and limit temperature, tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX), in accordance with the European standard NF ISO 23537 - 2017. The "comfort temperature" is the lower comfort limit at which a user in relaxed position is in overall thermal balance and is neither hot nor cold (determined for an average woman in normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag according to this criterion.

What are the temperature "limits" at which it can be used?

Limit temperature: temperature limit at which the user of the sleeping bag in huddled-up position is generally in thermal equilibrium and is neither cold nor hot (determined for a standard man under normal conditions of use). We recommend using an insulation mattress to optimize your thermal comfort. This sleeping bag is lined with synthetic insulation to ensure its performance even in wet conditions.

What you need to know about temperature

A sleeping bag does not produce heat but retains the heat produced by the body. If you are tired and cold and you slip inside a cold, damp sleeping bag, it is very likely that you will feel cold no matter how good your sleeping bag is! During the night, your thermal comfort will therefore depend not only on climatic conditions (humidity, wind, etc.) but also on your physical condition, your equipment (mattress, etc.) and your clothing (wool underwear, etc.)

For greater comfort, before getting into your sleeping bag

Dress simply (1 layer of clothing is enough) Warm up your extremities: Use hats, gloves, socks, bed warmers, rubbing, etc. A flask filled with hot water can be used as a hot water bottle (if it can't open by accident!) Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is converted into heat) but without making any movement generating a cold airstream. Use a sleeping bag liner to maximize the heat and hygiene inside your sleeping bag.

Shape:

A generous mummy shape that is wide at the shoulders and narrow at the feet to optimize thermal insulation (no heat loss) and make the product more compact, while maintaining some freedom of movement. Shoulder width 27.6", height at feet 12.6" in size L, 24.4"/11" in S, 26"/11.8" in M, 29.1"/13.4" in XL Ergonomic hood and drawstring 2 double-slider side zippers so that it can be opened at the sides. You can therefore manage the entry of cool air and mechanically ventilate your bag

Weight and dimensions

Size S 1.7 lbs, user up to 5'3" Bag dimensions: L 13" Ø 6.1". 6.2 liter volume. Size M 2 lbs, user from 5'3" to 5'7" tall. L 13" Ø 6.5". 7.1 liter volume. Size L 2.1 lbs, user from 5'7" to 6' tall. Bag dim.: L 13" Ø 6.9". 7.9 liter volume. Size XL 2.3 lbs, height between 6'1" and 6'7". Bag dim.: L 13" Ø 7.3". 8.9 liter volume. Volume and dimensions may vary according to the compression applied to the product.

Size and thermal insulation:

The weight, volumes, and sizes may vary slightly owing to production tolerances. Try your sleeping bag before buying it to choose the right size for your comfort. The point of a mummy-shaped sleeping bag is to optimize the insulation/weight/volume ratio. Indeed, with a bag that fits close to the body, you will have less volume to heat (saving your energy). Conversely, this type of bag can limit your freedom of movement, especially when the zippers are closed.

Compatibility (continued)

Can be twinned with all the Forclaz Trek 500 sleeping bag models. Can be twinned with the older models in the 2017 "Ultralight" and 2018 "Light" ranges.

Eco-design

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this impact on the environment, we chose to use a dyeing process called "bi-ton," which involves dyeing 1 in every 2 yarns. This dyed yarn is also made from a bulk dyeing process that incorporates the color pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onward. This process reduces the CO2 emissions of this tent by 19% compared to the old model.

Warranty

This sleeping bag is guaranteed for a period of 5 years from the date of sale indicated on the receipt. The product covered by the guarantee will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects excluding any resulting from normal wear and tear and those resulting from abnormal use. The product and sales receipt are required for this special 5-year warranty to be valid.

Product testing

All our sleeping bags undergo mechanical tests that test the performance and resistance of the sleeping bag to guarantee better sleep and recuperation (thermal resistance, resistance to abrasion, comfort, etc). We also carry out many tests in the field, in real conditions.

Storage instructions

You can easily store your bag by stuffing it loosely into its cover, feet section first. To keep it fluffed up & ensure good thermal performance, remove from its cover, extend, store it in a dry place.
