Waterproofing
Quechua tents are tested in the laboratory (tent mounted under 200 liters/sqm/hour for 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rain storm), as well as in field test missions. 75 denier polyester (PE) flysheet, polyurethane-coated (interior) water-repellent treatment (exterior), PE 75D bedroom floor cover. Seams sealed with thermo-bonded strips. Bedroom in breathable and water-repellent PE 66D and part-mosquito net, to avoid contact with drops of condensation.
Wind-resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind. To test its wind-resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 45 mph, measured near ground level.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Bedroom with mosquito net sections for ventilation and water-repellent fabric sections to protect from condensation and drafts. Large vent at the front of the tent’s flysheet and ventilation at the bottom. To limit condensation inside your tent, it must be correctly pitched, the canvas stretched out, but not excessively so. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits humidity inside your tent.
Sun protection
Titanium dioxide (TiO²)-coated flysheet fabric guarantees UPF protection of 50+. Please note: a large amount of UV rays can pass through an open door. Protect your skin.
Warranty and after-sales service
As designers and users who love our natural playground, we care about the durability of our products, which is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Product testing
The waterproofing of Quechua tents is validated, tent mounted, under 200 liters of water/sqm/hr (tropical rain) for 4 hours excluding any water passage through the seams, flaps, openings, zippers, etc. The water column test (= mm Schmerbers) measures the impermeability of the fabric. Wind-resistance: tents pitched in a wind tunnel on a rotating table to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.
Storage instructions
Storage: after use or cleaning, store the tent only once perfectly dry to prevent any odor or mold from developing.
Guarantee
