I have better locks, but none are light. I am going on a long trip and I want something for when I am off my bicycle on a train or in a cafe. I do not plan to let it out of my sight but one must go to the toilet sometimes. That is when the deterrent of a lock comes into its own. Note, although I am sure a dedicated thief would find it easy to crack, it will make enough noise and a sight for me to see... I am punting on DETERRENT, find something easier. this is very light so carrying it a long way is nicer than a big strong heavy lock and chain. With only 3 number sequence it is not that safe if someone has time. The wire could be dealt with fairly quickly I guess but if your intent like mine is let Considering my limited intent, I would recommend. If you plan to leave your luggage or bike somewhere unattended, no, get something better, tougher, HEAVIER.
Only used on one ski trip but appears good quality and as always great service from Decathlon
I use this lock for my motorcycle helmet. The cable, though thin, is made of coated metal, hence is sturdy enough to hold my helmets. The best thing about this lock is the retractable cable feature. I can easily lock 2 helmets with it. It being a combination lock means I don't need to carry an extra key with my bike key. Also, as this is of very compact size, I just keep it in my tank bag with no significant space consumption.

Decathlon app give full and specific information about product he sell
The tip of the cable doesn't seem to fit the lock-holes provided in the zippers of backpacks. Tried with Forclaz 60L backpack (Reference#: 8554568), not sure about any other similar bags. Product specification page doesn't clearly say which type of bags are suitable for this lock. Simply using the long cable to tie up multiple bags is not going to help much with "security", does it? For those baffled with how to reset the code for this lock - the pics provided on the "packaging" are meant to be instructions to reset the code, not how to lock/retract the cable, though there is no mention about the same anywhere in the packaging. The trick is to retract the cable completely, and then press it down a little bit more to make it 'click' into place, then set your new code by rotating the dials, then release the cable, and now you can lock using the new code. Have to check the "Technical details" page for the product in the website to get a clue, but then again, you will just get a "clue" - you will find a completely confusing bit of text there: "A video explaining how to easily change the padlock's code is available in the photo slideshow on the project page." - The video (present as of 2022-05-15) doesn't show how to reset the code, and if you look closely at the photos in the "project page" (must have meant 'product page'?), there is a pic of the lock attached to the brown packaging board where the mysterious instructions are picturized. Very surprised with the disappointing quality of information provided - not what is expected from Decathlon.

All it needs is a small scissors, or a nail cutter to cut this very thin cable. It was easy to change the code, but this thin cable make the lock nonsensical. No point in this lock!
