Thermal insulation details.
LongJohn wetsuit with 5 mm neoprene on the chest.
4 mm on the upper part of the legs.
Once the film of water is trapped between your body and the pants, no more water is able to circulate and no new water gets in.
Each leg has a small skirt inside (inner stop water) to prevent water circulation and the transfer of water warmed by the body and the outside.
Multi-thickness
The suit has 5 mm of neoprene on the chest.
4 mm of neoprene on upper legs, with remainder of legs in 3 mm and 2.5 mm Supratex.
This multi-thickness construction provides the necessary comfort and ergonomics for canyoning
Tips for looking after your canyoning suit?
1/ Soak the suit after each session in clean water outside and inside
2/ Use a bactericidal solution to sanitize it
3/ Rinse well in clean water
4/ Dry on a wide hanger in a shaded and well ventilated place. Be careful of the sun as it discolors the textile parts of the suit.
What is a wetsuit?
This type of suit is the most commonly found on the market. Its purpose is not to keep out the water, but rather to trap it to allow your body to warm it up to create a thermal buffer between yourself and the outside world.
Manufactured in neoprene - a rubber polymer filled with air bubbles - these wetsuits range from 0.5 to 7 mm thick.
As such, they constitute an excellent wetsuit because they are supple and adaptable.
Choose your size carefully
To fully enjoy the practical features of your suit, you must choose the right size. A canyoning suit must be very fitted and have no visible folds. When dry, it is normal for it to feel tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the suit is wet. If you choose a suit that is too large, folds will form, will irritate your skin, and thermal insulation will be reduced (water ingress).
Try it before buying it
Keep warm
When we are in the water, we lose over half your bodily heat is lost through the body's extremities (feet, hands, head).
This is why we recommend the following accessories:
- in warm water and temperate water (>63°F) => 3 mm low neoprene socks - in cold water (54 - 63°F): 3 mm gloves - in very cold water (45 - 54°F): Neoprene jacket, gloves and hood.
