It broke the second day skiing
I am sorry to hear that the Cascade Pants did not meet with you expectations.
Could you please provide me with more specific details. Which part broke, how and what type of skiing you were doing at the time? This will allow me to give more precise feedback to the brand.
These trousers are primarily designed for Mountaineering rather than Skiing which places different strains on different parts of the trousers. I was looking for a pair of shell pants for skiing and saw these. Initially I was doubtful they would fit over my ski boots. No problem as they are an excellent fit and the removable inner gaiter is probably not needed when wearing ski boots as the fit is so snug. I have also worn them whilst hiking in the Cairngorms in typical Scottish weather, one minute blazing sun the next snowing. Again they performed brilliantly! Size wise they fit fine, maybe slightly long in the leg. The braces have a good range of adjustment but do chafe the chest area a bit if worn just over a base layer. Maybe not the most breathable trousers but the leg vents allow some heat to escape. I would buy another pair also thinking about buying the soft shell version as well.
I bought these as an last minute replacement for my old waterproofs before heading out for 3 days of Scottish winter climbing. I wasn’t expecting much for the price but I can’t recommend them enough. I was waist deep in snow gully’s for long periods of time getting into the climb then spent a few hours scrapping them off ice and rock. I didn’t get wet nor did the trousers rip. They took 3 days of pain whilst I felt comfortable throughout. A very good price for an excellent product.
The trousers ripped easily albeit scrambling on some quite rough rock. Then the tears are in multiple direction as if the fabric has no 'rip stop' capability. For standing round on a wet campsite or some regular hiking I think they are OK but not very robust

Cant say enough about these trousers. Worn on two Scottish winter trips, very comfortable, well fitted and offer great protection. Well worth the money and offer a reasonably priced alternative to other brands yet still look good.
I've worn these for a weeks ice climbing in Rjukan Norway and they have received crampon scuffs, heavy amounts of water, ice and snow without any problems. The only thing is a small hole from a crampon just below the knee. If I could give them a higher score I would. Oh and the fit is fantastic, no baggy bits hiding my feet.

Ich nutze die Hose zum MTB fahren bei Schlechtwetter. Die Hose ist dicht und bequem. Perfekt die Lüftung mit den Reisverschlüssen. Am Bein habe ich einen zusätzlichen Druckknopf angebracht um den Abschluss unten ein bisschen enger zu stellen damit die Hose nicht an der Kurbel streift

Auf mehreren Skitouren dabei gehabt. Nie zu warm oder zu kalt.
der polsterschutz in Bereich der waden(innen) sollte bis zu der Kniehöhe gehen und im Umfang grösser sein. beim nutzen von steigeisen schneidet man ins Material oberhalb des polsterschutzes und reist die naht im Umfang auf!

Despues de usarlo en mas de 20 salidas, la costura que sujeta los tirantes se ha roto, la he arreglado y se ha vuelto a romper. La zona baja que cubre las botas también se ha descosido. Los bolsillos están mal diseñados ya que al meter cualquier cosa en ellos, como una navajita, movil, llaves,.... se quedan hacia la ingle y es muy molesto. Para ser un pantalón tope de gama no cumple las expectativas.

Fabric waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure resistance, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with 2000 mm waterproof rating can resist 2000 mm of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). With a waterproofing rate over 10,000 mm, pants offer an extremely high level of waterproofing.
