Very good protection in cold water
This balaclava protects well from the wind, the cold, the waves, but the elastic band creates irritation in my neck. It would be necessary to review the quality of the elastic or to put another material. A colleague noticed the same problem. I don't usually have any skin issues. Otherwise it is efficient and good maintenance.

Materials
The Olaian 100 built-in hood of the is made of 100% neoprene for better thermal comfort. The neoprene is lined with synthetic fabric for added resistance to wear.The neoprene is made from an elastomer foam with insulating properties.We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials
Watertight assembly
The seams are stitched and glued for a watertight seal and durability. The seams are ”blind-stitched.” The thread does not go all the way through the neoprene, preventing water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Patches for comfort and reinforcement are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
Windproof
We have added smooth windproof neoprene elements to reduce the chilling effects of wind. This component improves thermal comfort and reduces shivering.
Recommendations for use
Carefully position the hood on the forehead and cheeks to keep water infiltration to a minimum.
