Good grip and comfort for a budding hockey player
Hello,
Thank you for this very positive technical comment.
See you soon!

Bought these in a size UK5 after reading reviews of coming up small. My daughter needed these urgently so as she is a UK3 I had no doubt the UK5 would ve OK. How wrong was I. Not only are they too small - she couldn't physically get her feet in the shoe. We aren't local to a Decathlon but tgis is the last time i order online from them
Simon
Purchased for my daughter who has just measured size 13.5 in clarks - ordered szie up a 1.5 as know Decathlon sizing is small in everything and still far too small! Not happy because now have no shoes for training starting again on saturday - Decathlon sort your sizing out, another reviewer said the same - I understand clothing can be wrong, french kids are clearly much smaller than British kids - but shoe sizes seriously? it is a standard measurement surely! I now cant rely on ordering from Decathlon which is very disappointing as the products are excellent, this is a solid shoe and looks ideal for intended use and all others on market are ÂŁ40 plus back to the drawing board now...
As mentioned in your review of the girls version we are disappointed to read of your frustration. Hockey shoes are often smaller than the standard shoes, so we recommend going up between half a size to some times two sizes. It is always best to try before you buy. Of course you have return and exchange options and we are keen to ensure you are satisfied as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Simon
Sizing is completely off, I bought my daughter a size 5/38 - knowing Decathlon come up small in everything as she is ordinarily a size 4/37 but even the 5 are far too small - please sort out your sizing Decathlon it is so frustrating as now she does'nt have boots to start for hockey training again on Saturday and I am back to the drawing board because they are not available in a size 6. Apart from this issue the shoes look ideal for hockey
I am sorry to read of the frustration you have encountered. I will email you directly to see how we can help resolve this issue for you.
Generally speaking we recommend for hockey shoes to try them on before purchase and to consider the thicker socks worn. This often results in going a size or two up from normal. For this model we have produced signs with advice on how to choose and I will check that they have been installed locally.

I purchased these for my daughter, they look great. She is a UK size 1 and I know Decathlon sizes are small - so I got a UK 1.5 When trying these on at home the shoe was way too small. I need to go back and swap sizes now. They are so wrong, I think the wrong label must be on the shoes.
Thank you for your review and I am sorry to read of the frsutration you encountered.
The feedback has been passed on and I am assured that this sizing issue won't resurface. We have fed back to our staff to advise customers to go up a size on all Decathlon hockey shoes to mitigate the issue.
I will send you a message privately too to see what more we can do for you specifically.

A friend gave me these for my daughter to test. It did the job perfectly and the colours suited what she wanted down to a t. Perfect for beginner kids!
Once you find the right size these are hard to beat. I've just returned to buy a second pair. Sizing is small but the quality is really good
Hi Sheila,
Thanks for taking the time to write this, we really appreciate it! You are right about the sizing, my youngest daughter wears the same model so this is something we are looking to improve in the next run for these shoes.
I hope that she has had a great season and gets behind the likes of Hannah McLoughlin and the rest of the Irish squad ahead of the World Cup this summer!

Good And Excellent Shoe
Dear Nurul,
Thank you for your time in leaving us with a 5-Star rating on our Kids' Low to Medium Intensity Field Hockey Shoes. We are glad that we managed to delight you with the standards of our product.
For your information, field hockey shoes are designed with two specific features: reinforcements, especially at the front of the foot, to protect your feet from impacts from the ball, and a sole suited to field hockey playing surfaces - generally sandy or wet artificial turf - for traction. It is important that your shoe fits perfectly. To do that, plant your foot firmly on the ground with the shoes on. While exerting pressure down on your foot, try to move your foot in all directions in the shoe. Make sure that you are able to do so in a comfortable way.
We truly appreciate your loyalty with Decathlon. Please let us know if there is anything else we can improve on in the future. Thank you once again for your time and we hope to serve you again soon!

Choosing the right size and model
Like with any sports shoes, your hockey shoes need to fit your feet properly. First, make sure there are no pressure points. Next, ensure your foot does not slip around inside the shoe. This is especially important when playing on artificial turf. Certain models are specially designed for women's feet.

Shoe construction
Field hockey shoes have different sections. Each has a specific purpose. The outsole (in contact with the ground) is generally made of rubber and has spikes. It is hard and provides traction to prevent slipping. The midsole (just above the outsole) is generally made of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).
Shoe construction (cont. 1)
This material provides cushioning at the heel. It may also come up on the instep to improve stability as well as form a toe cap for protection against impacts with the ball. The sock liner is in direct contact with the foot. It is generally made of foam or EVA. Its main purpose is comfort.
Shoe construction (cont. 2)
The upper is the part of your shoe that is not part of the sole assembly. It features several sections. The front section is usually made of PU and mesh fabric. On the inner and outer sides, called the quarter panel, you will often find PU reinforcements. These are frequently design-oriented inserts (brand name or specific design). A stiffener is inserted at the back of the shoe.
Product testing
Our shoes are tested in the lab and in the field by our panel of testers under real playing conditions.
Storage instructions
