Nice Folding Bike

easy to fold light weight and cheap

Strong Frame

I selected Tilt 500 to mount my CVT motorized bike kit. Strong and low frame of Tilt 500 enables excellent power transfer whilst keeping the center of gravity to a minimum. Plenty of cable guides and accessory attachment points make it easy to install the kit. I wish Tilt 500 had the same double-walled rims as Tilt 500 Electric.

Hi Çakıroğulları,

Thanks for your review for the Tilt 500. Do take note any modification on the bicycle will void your warranty though.

Please ride safe!

Value for money!

Quality and materials are great compare to cheap price. It’s really worth for your money. Only assembly on my pedal is not ok

best deal in the world

10/10 highly recommended. Store and Service: I just picked up my bike from Joo Koon store. The store has huge spaces for testing and has very pristine demo items (adult kick scooters, bicycles, etc.). Look out for Chris (if he's there). He oversees the bike section of Joo Koon store and repair services. He was EXTREMELY patient throughout my many questions. You can really sense his passion for cycling emanating from his responses to my every query. He is very knowledgeable and a subject matter expert on bicycles/cycling in Singapore. The downside of my purchase experience is the non-functional hotline and website. Glitches for these two things should be fixed. Product: I test rode, folded and push (in trolley mode), and lifted the Tilt 120 (steel frame, 14.5kg) and the Tilt 500 (aluminium frame, 12+kg) many many many many times in the store. I decided that the $100 extra is worth the upgrade for the Tilt 500. My only concern about the Tilt 500 was that the folding mechanism uses magnets, while Tilt 120 uses physical clasps (like ball and socket). As I would occasionally push my folded bike in trolley mode on MRT rides, I was worried that the magnets might make it difficult to do so. I feared that the magnets would be easily pulled apart accidentally and unravel the bike. However, after much testing and deliberation, I decided the magnets should be fine. My only hope is that the magnets stay magnetised and strong for years to come. Decathlon France HQ should really look into providing spare parts for locking mechanisms (magnets for Tilt 500 and physical joints for Tilt 120) as these are expected to be well-worn components of these bikes -- especially if the user folds the bike multiple times a day. Note that the saddle for Tilt 500 is noticeably comfier than Tilt 120's, and that Tilt 500 uses Shimano derailleurs whereas Tilt 120 uses generic ones. The Shimano and generic derailleurs have identical extreme gears (lowest and highest). The difference between the two is in that Shimano has 7 speeds (making the intervals/jumps within the extreme gears smoother) and that the Shimano has an indescribably premium and robust feel. I also noticed that the 'click click click' sounds that come from the hub is louder, tinnier, and cheaper sounding on the Tilt 120. And of course, with the lighter frame, the Tilt 500 allows a quicker launch off the line. With all these reasons combined, I decided to opt for the Tilt 500. But the Tilt 120 is also no slouch and is good for those with mostly flat commutes and do not need to lift the bike often. Conclusion: Get this bike if you're on the fence and contemplating its worth. It's 100% worth it. My only criticism is Decathlon's official lack of spare parts for important folding components such as the magnets (for Tilt 500), clasps (for Tilt 120), etc. Again, shout out to Joo Koon team and specifically Chris for advising me and Halifi for fixing the bike for my use.

Good value for money

Very well built and sturdy. While the aluminium ally frame is lighter than steel frame, it's a little bulkier especially after being folded. If you plan to accessorize, please double check with the staff, as some may not be compatible.

Additional Product Information

Bike frame

  • 100% Aluminium 6061

6061 T6 aluminum frame—lightweight, dynamic and sturdy. The simple side-folding system using the lever means it takes up little space at home, at the office, in the boot of a car or in a camper... you'll forget your bike is even there. There is a mechanism to quickly lock the frame and stem so that you can keep the bike folded and transport it easily.

Hi-ten steel fork for greater durability.

Thanks to the Shimano 7-speed derailleur gears, the TILT 500 can easily cope with any gradient and lets you adapt your effort throughout your ride (pushing off at traffic lights or accelerating in a straight line, for example) The Shimano Revo-Shift shifter is ergonomic and precise. Gear inches: 37" / 74".

Steel V-brake and calipers guarantee effective and progressive braking.

Handlebar / stem / steering

Steel low-rise bars with a rise of 60 mm to adjust your position on the bike to suit your body and make the bike easier to handle. Handlebar width: 560 mm. Fixed aluminum stem with quick-release lock for greater stiffness compared to a height-adjustable stem. Distance from saddle to handlebar: 540 mm. Bottom bracket to saddle distance: 480 mm to 780 mm

Saddle / seat post

Comfortable, seamless foam saddle to stop water from getting in. Theft-proof seat post that doesn't twist. 31.6 mm diameter.

20", single rim, black anodized wall.

20 x 1.75 city tires. We have made these tires lighter to get better performance while retaining their grip.

The fold-up pedals reduce bulk when the bike is folded. Once the pedals are folded up and the stem folded down, the bike can be stored against a wall and takes up very little space (10.2" wide). Cranks: 170 mm.

Accessories / equipment

Mudguard with stays, double chainguard to stop the chain from jumping and protect from dirt. This bike is compatible with the TILT transport cover and the B'TWIN pannier rack for foldable bikes. Front and rear reflectors
