Ideal for trekking

Easy to inflate mattress with its bag and double valve system. Does not deflate overnight. Protects well from humidity. Not easy, however, to put back in your bag

Quality

I bought it to go hiking, on the second day the cover broke, so the size of the backpack exceeded what was provided. The inflation system through the cover seems surreal to me.

Questionable durability and/or manufacturing

Bought to replace the previous model that I had for 5 or 6 years (sold under the Quechua brand at the time); the inflation valve on my old mattress was no longer waterproof. My first impressions were mixed: . the 2 separate valves for inflation and deflation make storage much simpler (facilitates air evacuation). on the other hand, the volume of the folded mattress is a disappointment compared to the model it replaces. The main problem is durability/manufacturing quality: after only ten nights of use, the welding around the edge of the mattress gave way on around twenty of millimeters. I tried to repair it with cyanoacrylate glue, but without success. After a few days, I found a replacement mattress at a sports store. This one was even more expensive than the Forclaz model, but it seems better made; I hope it will be much more durable. Note on the transport bag: I imagine the ridiculousness of the "corporate" meeting during which the marking on the transport bag was validated. No one dared to tell the product manager that marking the width 1'12" is stupid!

Airless

One would think that the air mattress in the price range brings a certain quality with it. Wrong, she's losing a lot of air. I had bought two of the mattresses, inflated one as a test and put it in the corner, it lost air the first night. Exchanged and camped in good spirits, the first night ended with a lot of lack of air. Both mattresses had to be inflated several times during the night. After testing, it turned out that the air was escaping at the inlet/outlet. It's a shame, my daughter is through with camping now, doesn't feel like it anymore! Thanks for that. Does Decathlon not carry out any quality control of the items sold?

Great to use

Great product? Very comfortable. Does not slip on the tent floor and has a really good heat output. The pump sack integrated into the pannier is particularly pleasing, which makes it easy to handle. Everyone knows that when there is a lot of wind, such parts can quickly become lost. This solution minimizes this risk. I had a Mate from Exped, which cost a lot more. Since the Pumsack was separate - not so great. I like the mat and it gives me a sense of security. Brilliant and just good for this price.

Excellent value

Excellent value for money, good mattress, practical storage with its inflation bag, nothing to say... I slept on it for 7 nights. I have only one criticism to make: there are no anti-slip patches on both sides. I sleep on a floor mat, and the gray side slides over it. So I turned the inflatable mattress red side up on the floor mat. There it no longer slips, but the 2 inflation caps bothered me a little at the level of the feet.

Well thought, but…!!!

The air mattress makes a very good impression at first glance. The pack dimensions and size are very good and inflation with the help of the pack sack is also very comfortable. Unfortunately, the mat lost a lot of air in the first night. Then I thought maybe I didn't close the lid properly. Unfortunately, that wasn't the problem, because the second attempt was also a disaster. Impossible to sleep comfortably, instead sleeping on the hard floor or pumping up 4 times a night. In short: spoiled vacation - a pity. I hope that a complaint is possible.

Warm, comfortable but leaking!

The air mattress would actually be perfect if it held the air. After the first night, pumping was already announced. Aich after the second night. After that, no more overnight stays with this air mattress. Even without a load, the air mattress loses air. Not audible, but the loss of pressure is noticeable. After the fourth day without a load, she lost a lot of air. There are full points for the pack size and the insulation effect. But without air everything is nothing. A pity! Apparently it's not an isolated case.

Bad product

Bought this mat on vacation for my three year old son to sleep on while camping. After the first night he was already on the floor. I have tried to find any leaks but have been unsuccessful. So pump it up every night with the bag. After a few days back but the store to exchange it (Decathlon Bollene in France). The store refuses to exchange it. They say I can't prove the cot is leaking because it takes a few hours. They don't believe something is going on because they can't see it right away. Very bad service. I recommend not to buy this bed. If there is a factory defect that is very clear, you will not get a new one. I didn't even want my money back or anything.

Really good mattress

The toughest conditions in which I used it were the Tatras, Jura and Alps, when there were frosts at night. I used it with the "C" Lite Line 400 down sleeping bag, in which the "backs" are much less "admitted" than the top, both in the tent and in the bivibag, and it never "pulled" from the ground, and I usually sleep only in a t-shirt and pants. :D The great advantage is also the pumping system, this bag with a cover. Great idea, 3-4 moves and the mattress is inflated. I recommend the product.

6 day hike

After inflation, we doubt, but very effective when used, fulfilled its role well. no aches and does not deflate. Very light and practical. I am happy with my purchase

Mattress

Great product from Decathlon. Tested in the mountains and the mattress insulates very well and is very comfortable to sleep on. Compared to the normal Trek 500 model, it takes up much more space and weighs more so you need to evaluate its use well to put the right one in your backpack. In terms of volume and size, there is very little difference between the L and XL models, so for people over 1.80 m I recommend XL directly because it is more tasteful and comfortable than the standard model. Care must be taken to close the air outlet cap well because it must be pushed well to close it.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 50.0% Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester

Volume and folded size

Folded dimensions Ø 5.5” x 11.8”. Volume: 4.6 liters.

How to inflate your mattress

To prevent moisture from being blown into the mattress, we recommend that you use the pump bag in the pouch. To do this, unroll the entire pump bag/pouch. Connect the valve of the pump bag to the “in” valve of your mattress. Blow to about 4”-8” from the inlet of the pump bag, to inflate the main volume as much as possible. Roll the bag on itself to the valve to push the air out of the main bag into your mattress.

What is the r-value?

The R-Value is a measure of the thermal insulation. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress. Please note that the R-Values can be added; this means that you can use 2 mattresses and add their R-Values.All our mattresses are tested to standard ASTM F3340-18.

What r-value for what use?

R-value from 0 to 1.9: Hot season (summer) onlyR-value from 2 to 3: 2 or 3-season (spring-summer-fall)R-value from 3 to 4: 4-seasonR-value of 4.5 and higher: Use in all 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north, and high altitudes)

Tips for sleeping well on your mattress

Once you are lying down, remember to adjust the inflation pressure of the mattress by slightly pressing the in valve (open cap). A mattress that is too hard is often synonymous with discomfort.Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are designed to reduce the sliding of your sleeping bag on the mattress.

Additional sustainable development information

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this impact on the environment, we use only mass pigmentation on 1 yarn out of every 2 for the gray fabric on the back of the mattress, thus reducing our consumption and our impact on water. In addition, 70% of the fill used as insulation is recycled polyester. These actions allow us to reduce CO2 emissions by 12%.

How to repair a leaky mattress

An inflatable mattress is not puncture-proof but it can be repaired! When using it, take every care when installing and handling it. In the event of a problem, we recommend using self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8584596).For more information, copy the following link into your browser:https://www.forclaz.co.uk

Storage instructions

In order to improve the durability and reliability of your product, store it laid out flat with the valve open in a dry place away from extreme temperatures.
