Product Customer Reviews

.
This is a great jacket. The price was right, and it is hard to tell the difference compared to a higher priced "named" jacket.
Outstanding quality for the price. Wanted this is a layering piece for hiking/backpacking, as well as an around town puffy. For those purposes, I wanted a hoodless jacket. This appears to be the hoodless version of the Trek 100. However, the sizing is crazy. I would typically wear a men's medium in most major brands. I ordered multiple sizes to get the right fit thanks to Decathlon's excellent return policy. For reference, I am 5'-7", 165lbs. I couldn't even get the medium zipped up it was so tight! The large was still snug in the shoulders and waist. An XL fit better in these areas, maybe a little baggy, but now the sleeves and length was too long. I kept the L, which is accurate to Decathlon's description (size up). Though not a perfect fit, at this price it will work, and the snugger fit allows me to easily layer it under my hooded synthetic puffy I already have. The length is right, and it's just a little tight though the waiist & stomach, but not excessively so.
Really have been enjoying this jacket. Just warm enough without the bulk. And I really like the fit, not too bulky or loose.

Not impressed at all, nice looking jacket but that’s it. Followed the instructions for washing and it didn’t come out the way it went in, it’s now all clumped up and I can’t get it back to the way it was. I have the old synthetic version of this jacket and that’s still alive and well after a numerous washes.
Bought this after having seen tons of hikers review it on YouTube and comment how it was ‘pound for pound’ the best down jacket they’ve had. They’re so right. It’s warm, light, comfortable - just perfect. Haven’t yet tried it in real cold temperatures but can’t wait to. Tempted to go and buy a second jacket just because of how much I love it so far. Great buy.
Excellent value for money

Additional Product Information
Composition
Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Padding: 100.0% Polyester
How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling
The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?
The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. For this down jacket with its 90% down and 10% feathers filling, the fill power is guaranteed to be 800 CUIN or more (international standard).
What is rds certification?
RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organisation to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected. To find out more: https://www.forclaz.co.uk/what-is-rds-certification
How to care for a down jacket?
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.Video: https://youtu.be/6_wAcsvoHr0In summary: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.
Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.
How do i reactivate the waterproofing properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
A snag? how to repair your fleece
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or to stop the feathers from escaping. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. A score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach.
