I was a little concerned about how good this jacket could be at such a low price point. I tested the jacket on an overnight backpacking trip with temps down to the low 40’s. I was warm and comfortable. The jackets isn’t real thick but I couldn’t feel the wind come through it. I was impressed. I would’ve gladly paid $80.00 for this jacket. It’s definitely worth it. If your getting backpacking gear together and trying to stay on budget then you’ve found your jacket. Seriously! Oh and it folds into its left pocket. Which I used as a pillow.
I normally wear a medium to large jacket (size 40 USA). Ordered a medium when I read the sleeves are long. Fits a little tight all the way around--would not be able to wear fleece under it. Not many extras on this but the overall quality is excellent. I recommend it. Wore it in the Black Hills down to 30 degrees wind chill. Below that you would need a shell over it. Long sleeves are nice to put over your hands!
Pocket is get caught in the zipper. Really frustrating to fight with the zipper every time I want to use my pockets. 2nd is the waist is a little tight for a medium. It has a draw cord which is great but does starts off too small.
I am 6'2" and slim build w/ 32" waist. The Medium is a comfortable but snug fit with a single base layer. Even so, the arms are plenty long, it sits quite low on the waist, and has a generous neck up top. It's like a Medium chest with Large everything else. For me it's perfect.
Great little jacket to throw under a shell when it gets colder. Very light and comfy
This is one of the best buys from Decathlon especially during the black Friday sale.... hiking was wonderful with it!

My son said it would be better with a hood.
After trailing round many shops my son found this jacket which was exactly what he was looking for, reasonable price and easy to order on line and collect in shop
Lovely warm, light jacket , light rain no problem, only issue need to size up or no room for jumper underneath and slightly figure hugging at hip level

Been using Decathlon for years as I regularly go to Europe. I have learnt one thing. The sizing is European! Ie. Not good for British body shapes. The trousers and shorts never fit. The tops and jackets always have to be sized up. Until now. It would seem that if you are UK XL. Then buy UK XL. Alas sadly I had already removed the labels. Jacket wise I got it to wear under my motorbike jacket as the stock layering is always poor without exception. I could not wear my exisiting Rab as it has a hood. I do adventure tours so do not want to duplicate kit. One coat. Day and evening then (part of) pillow at night. For £27 this is a total bargain. And I have thrashed and trashed it this month. Only issue. The inner seems to come out of the cuffs when you put it on.
This does not look like the picture, I purchased a large and in comparison to other coats I have bought I would class it as a small. Tight round the arms, chest and belly as well as short fit. Very thin, very poor quality. Completely out of proportion. Will be returning at my own expense!
This is warm enough and can be warm with or without layers underneath meaning it's versitile for a number of weather temperatures. Not sexeist looking jacket but no issues at these prices.

How warm is this padded jacket?
This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 23°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber.The model is wearing a synthetic long sleeve T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. We have also tested this model in ”static” mode; the comfort temperature is 41°F in this case.

How to repair your padded jacket
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when backpacking! The good news is that it can be repaired so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or to stop the synthetic fibers from escaping.Don't feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Our in-store Decathlon workshops offer a repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
Product testing
In November 2017, 6 backpackers (4 men and 2 women) with part of the Forclaz design team tested this padded jacket for 4 days in the Southern French Alps.We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for use for backpacking.
Storage instructions
To keep the fill inflated, we recommend you store your padded jacket on a hanger and not folded up in its pocket!
