Great backpacking pack

Decathlon have nailed it with this pack. After 2 seperate multi day backpacking hikes I love the way it is designed. The internal layout with multi straps makes it easy to remove your sleeping bag etc without all your clothes collapsing, the pockets are all easy to access even with cinch straps tightened, there are loads of accessory loops for attaching quick grab items to the outside and I really love the bottle holsters. What a great feature these are for sweaty treks. 50+10 is a perfect size for summer backpacking where you don’t need to be carrying bulky sleeping bags and clothes. Strongly recommend this pack.

It was much better than expected

I was not aware it was a Mens trekking pack! Once adjusted for my height 1.65 mt , it was very very comfortable. Was easy to use , many compartments and so easy to access.

Very product with some room for improvement

As usual with Decathlon, the product is at least as good as name brand products but significantly cheaper. It's a good size for solo mutli day hikes with compact kit. The straps and back are comfortable. The front opening to the main compartment is handy, as are the compression straps. I've got no regrets whatsover, especially at this price. However, there's a couple of areas that could be improved for future iterations: The waterproof cover pocket is on the inside of the 'hood' of the rucksack. This a puzzling design choice, as when it rains and you want to use the cover, you have to open your rucksack to get it out. It would be preferable if this was accessed from the outside of the bag. A zipped pocked on the front of the bag would be useful. The side zidded pockets are compessed between the main bag and anything in the elasticated pockets, so aren't much use for snacks etc. The water bottle holder pockets could do with being wider. It was awkward for me to fit the 500 Tritan 1.2 L flask into these. However they work well for other bottles.

Worth every dollar for this pack

I have a number of larger 60+10 / 70+10 backpacks from other leading brands for years and this year for the family camping trip I started to get a smaller one. Although this 50+10 version is the smallest among the collection, but the sturdy body makes the room very usable. The pockets and the water bottle holder are very thoughtful too. First trip loaded including bag weight 24kg and very comfortable and well balanced on uneven paths.

Best Value

For the price this backpack is the best, all the features needed for hiking are available, including features that must be in a modern backpack. To get everything in this backpack usually more money is spent. I really like it and will probably use it for a long time

Gr8 product

I have used it in LoBhi Trek and it managed to help me take all the required things in the bag ....I am a Heart patient having DVT issue in my leg and somewhere I was worried about how I will.l carry the Necessary things with me which is basic for trekking and also the weight should not affect my Heart related issues .....It proven now it's the best product I did not feel much weight while Trekking .

Strong, Spacious But Expensive

Strong built Spacious Comfortable during trek Has enough compartments Expensive though

Backpack Trek 900

Nice, comfortable backpack with enough space for a 6-10 days trek. Fit is ergonomic, however, the empty weight is quite on the higher side. Missed a mechanism / provision to hold a camera stand, which I feel is quite essential for any trekker.

Symbium technology

The comfort of a backpack lies in its good balance when walking. Symbium technology consists of a jointed waistband that allows the backpack to adapt to the backpacker's movements when walking. The Symbium system means no more balancing effects that tire out the backpacker.

Capacity

Extendable volume: 50 L + 10 L (3051.2 in³ + 610.2 in³) extension via the bag’s top flap with adjustable height. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in liters, with a margin of error of just a few %.

Dying process

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we have opted for mass pigmentation called "dope dye" integrating the color pigments from the initial thread manufacture. This process reduces this backpack’s CO2 emissions by 20% compared to the previous model.

How to pack a backpack

Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece at hand. Place small items for daily use (sunblock, map, glasses, etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.

Why are our rain covers gray when some backpackers want them to be brightly colored?

The gray color is neutral, so it uses less dye. We also use a “bi-ton” dyeing process where only 1 thread in every 2 is dyed. This dyed yarn is also made from a bulk dyeing process which incorporates the color pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onward. Forclaz is committed to improving the environmental impact of its products through these actions.
