Outstanding All-Mountain Ski at a Great Value!

An outstanding ski that has a nice, timeless look, great bindings, and handles trail and off-trail skiing quite well and at an incredible value. As to my ski profile: I've been skiing for 34 years and have skied in the Western United States for the last 14 years. I am using these in Utah in the snowy Wasatch Mountains. I am an expert that enjoys skiing a wide variety of terrain on every outing. I normally ski 50 or more days a winter. I was looking for a lighter yet durable expert ski that could handle on-trail and off-trail conditions. I normally ski on HEAD skis and love their damp, smooth feel. These skis fit the bill. I've now skied about five days on these skis at Alta and Brighton in varied conditions, ranging from hardpack to fresh powder. Wedze has truly underpromised and overdelivered with these skis. They are light yet durable and hold edge very well. I am impressed by how well they handle at speed--no chattering at all. They also shine off-trail. The wide rockered shovel, wide underfoot shape, nice more traditional camber, and less-rockered tail really works perfectly for me. They cruise through fresh snow thanks to the rockered shovel but track quite well thanks to the tail. The stiffness is perfect and even. The length (185cm) is ideal for me and handles high-speed charging very well and confidently. I can't get over how well they perform for the light weight. While I do have many skis, I now reach for these almost instinctively for each outing. Decathlon shipped these quickly from their California warehouse and they were very well packaged with no shipping damage at all. They included the instructions and warranty paperwork. Judging by some of the labels on the box and other hints, I was quite happy to see that Wedze had a very reputable Austrian manufacturer produce these skis (and, admittedly, my go-to brand). A lot of cheaper skis nowadays are made in China. Not these. The edges were indeed sharpened AND detuned at the ends making them ready to go. I applied base wax and the appropriate temperature wax so that they gave a really smooth ride. They took wax quite well. After five days of fairly extensive use, the bases and topsheets still look almost new. The bindings are a typical "demo" or "shop" binding. Adjusting them for the boot, using the OUTSIDE size, is pretty straight forward. They have held my boots quite well and I have had no pre-release issues or problems. I am familiar with Tyrolia Bindings and have them on almost all of my skis. These are what I have used and have had no issues with for years. So seeing them on this ski was a real pro for me. The only downside with a "demo" or "shop" binding is that they are attractive for thieves because the bindings are easily adjusted to almost any boot size, so plan on locking them up. Even though they are a "demo" binding, I do not find them to be too heavy or to negate the performance of the ski. Mine have now broken in and they are exactly what I wanted and more!

Good “all mountain” ski

I am a good downhill skier wanting to venture a little more into the powder. The ski is very good in soft snow and with my limited experience in powder also good. On hard slopes the skiing is fine, but tricky on icy or very hard slopes. Overall I like the ski which is very versatile without having to break the bank. A little bit of play in the bindings, but after six outings, no problems. The ski is also quite flexible which is good, in my opinion, on soft snow and powder.

Good ski for the price

I picked these up on sale near the end of the season. We had such a good ski season in Quebec with regular snowfalls, I wanted to try a wider ski for snow days. They performed very well in fresh powder on both cruiser runs and in the glades, and they worked well in spring corn. To be honest I didn't love them on hardback or icy conditions, but I have a pair of Rossy Heroes for normal Ontario and Quebec conditions. So, for powder and spring corn, I love them and at the sale price it made owning two pairs of skis possible.

Perfect Patrol ski

Patrolled on these last season and will continue to do so this year, Great all mountain ski, wide enough with a slight rocker to have some float on a powder day and stiff enough to lay down some nice carves on the groomer

What happiness

That's it, I took the plunge, having Decathlon skis, this weekend in Baqueira, Spain, fresh snow, groomed, off-piste powder. (+ 50cm) On the piste, I find them not dynamic enough, maybe not quite arched, almost flat, they respond more well. they shake a little at high speed, less than my sin 7 Rossignol, trafolate snow, they stay straight, do not spread too much and follow orders. In powder snow, that's where they are best. It doesn't work, it's fun, it turns like on the slopes, with an adjustment of 1 cm further forward of the binding, as some skiers recommend. You have to stay high on the skis. The sole is solid to some sharks. What happiness. I still have to work...

Excellent all-around ski

Excellent all-around ski. it goes very well in all snow; 20cm of powder or very transformed snow in off-piste. The ski is also very stable on groomed or even icy slopes, so it gives you confidence everywhere

overall very satisfied

Here is my feedback after a few days: This Patrol 95 is a very versatile ski, comfortable in many situations. It seems to me an excellent compromise between piste/off-piste, but it is also its main fault: good everywhere but not very good! It excels at the edge of the track in rough snow, in steep couloirs, but I would have liked it to be more playful, especially in short turns on the track (which seems to be complicated with a 95 waist). A note: the edges rust abnormally even though I systematically wipe them after each outing, is this a defect linked to this model?

Classic all mountain skiing

A little too far back for me in adjustment, I tested it not very well prepared, however I greatly preferred the Patrol 95 TI which keeps its promise of a rigid ski

Very playful ski

I tested this ski for about two hours on a groomed piste and not as well as on the edge of the piste. The ski is very nice and manageable! He likes to take the bumps as well as the jumps ;)

Awesome

Great pair of skis in their programme: great grip on harder snow and great stability. Invited to pick up speed and builds confidence. Rails! Side look: nothing to say, modern and timeless! I really recommend!

Description

Grippy, stable and secure on hard snow, it has good buoyancy when the snow is softer, in powder or spring snow. The Patrol has directional shape, which enables good manoeuvrability in carved or drifted turns. The 19 m radius, neither to long or too short, enables you to vary the type of turn you use. The rockers are tight and low to enable good stability. In 175cm 136/95/118mm, r=17.5mIn 185cm 136/95/120 mm, r=19m

Structure

Woodcore Tec is a construction with a wooden core (poplar) and vertical edges. The advantage of this construction? It gives the ski excellent rebound, particularly pleasant on powder snow. It lets you have a lively ski under your foot in powder snow without sacrificing any grip on groomed slopes.

Rubber tip

The ski has a rubber insert. This insert on the tip aims to cushion distortion and reduce vibrations caused by the Rockers.

Bindings

Branded binding Tyrolia ATTACK² 11 AT DEMO , Din 3 to 11.Compatibility with soles - Alpine, GripWalk, Touring, ISO: 5355A, 9523, 9523W, 9523 GripWalkSuitable for all boots measuring between 259 mm and 382 mm.The TYROLIA Attack² 11 AT DEMO is a demonstration and hire binding that is ideal thanks to its possible adjustment to a wide range of boot sizes without tools. They are reactive and robust, like all the other products in the Attack range,

What is the rocker?

On a ”rocker” ski, the nose, and sometimes the tail, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski. This moves the points of contact towards the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened: they have better handling and more buoyancy on soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.
