I bought this backpack to carry camera, guide books, maps and water while out exploring. In the city or the outdoors is has been comfort, light and keep the bits n pieces organised and secure.
So far I'm happy with this backpack, already used it on a couple of trips. It is very spacious and it's been solid. I like the way the zippers slide easily, and the different pockets and sections are handy. Also price was fair. Only downside I can see is the excess of straps/belts, there's just too many and most of them are not that useful.
Really impressed with this backpack. There's lots of storage space, pockets and clips to adjust the bag, which is perfect for day hikes. The laptop space everyone is talking about is actually a compartment for your hydration bladder, which can be accessed from the main compartment, or through the vertical zipper on the outside. There's a valve outlet that you can thread the hydration straw through to bring it over your shoulder. The elasticized band on the shoulder strap holds the straw too. With a full 3l hydration pack, and a camera and a couple of lenses, this backpack fits it all. I store my rain jacket at the bottom of the pack together with the rain cover. So impressed. The colour is awesome for both guys and girls! I LOVE IT.
Good size for my son who uses it for college books, very sturdy
Light, plenty of room, good for communing or ligh adventure (it has a laptop sleeve which is useless and takes up space if you actually use it for proper hiking). The rain cover is a plus that would be additional 5-6 pounds so great that is included.
I have used this bag for two trips. One in winter and the other in summer. During the summer trip I was wearing thinner layers so noticed just how uncomfortable this bag is. The bar at the top is really uncomfortable when hiking (or just generally wearing) as it digs into the neck no matter what adjustments are made. I dont think I noticed during my short winter trip as I was wearing much thicker layers and only wore it for a few hours at most. I recommend you fill the bag with items from the shop (if/when you can) and walk around with it on before buying. Unfortunately this bag was not for me despite all the positives it has to offer.
I Like the rucksack it looks good and is very practical I find it comfortable to wear I have been touring Asia and found the raised ventilation covering on the back works well to combat the 'sweaty back'. Lots of secret pockets to keep things organized. Very useful as a small cabin bag.
I've tried quite a few backpacks and for the price, I don't think there is a more comfortable, well made pack. Sure, brands like Osprey have more comfortable packs but they are 3-4 times the price. I have owned my NH500 for a couple of months at the time of writing this review and so far, it has been reliable. It has a decent volume without being difficult to manage. Its a good day use pack and the number of storage pockets is quite adequate, for me at least. Its also quite comfortable, under loads of around 6kg, for a few miles. I had the chance to compare this to the Osprey Stratos 36, a £120 hiking rucksack over a few hours. The Osprey was indeed more comfortable and fitted better, owing to large hip straps but probably wasn't four times better. This pack is also more versatile and does not advertise itself, like an expensive pack does. I expect it will provide a few years of service.
The bag itself has a great look, comes with many useful and hidden pockets and a raincover is included as well. But after carrying it home from the shop the cross bar of the straps pulls started to hurt my neck. I tried it another day for a longer walk again but the backpack is definitely not made for me. It was a bit sad as I really liked the design but I had no choice than to return it. It could be good backpack - without that connecting cross bar.
Good product Value for money
Got this to do a 30mile yomp over Dartmoor in under 8hours to raise money for the Royal Marines Charity. It was absolutely fantastic really comfortable and did not rub when I was running so no Bergen burn. Would highly recommend
I have had this bag for well over a year now and I use it regularly as a day bag for hiking. I have used it in all weathers, most recently a very wet and windy day and everything inside was perfectly dry (I did use the rain cover provided). There is plenty of space and all the pockets keep smaller items in the right place (Keys, wallet, Passport, boarding card, phone). The pocket at the bottom is great for a jacket and I can fit a days food, my DSLR camera with additional lens, water bladder and iPad inside all safe and secure. The water proof cover is a great addition and the fact it is not attached to the bag means you can dry it off separately at the end of your adventure. I only have one small issue, when I adjust the straps to get the load as close to my back as I like, the carry handle on the top pushes on my neck. This results in me having to have the straps slightly looser than normal. I feel like the bag does not need this handle. A few fabric loops on the front of the bag would be a good addition as well for clipping small items like cups onto. These tiny issues apart I love the bag and it is a fantastic price.
Another excellent value backpack from Decathlon. Great value and quality. Lots of pockets and very comfortable on the back and shoulders. Recommended.
I had this bag since 04/18 and used it almost every day as my gym bag. Over all its very nice bag and perfectly satisfies my need. It’s comfortable mostly, The base is not great since if you have to put it down in a train or bus it does= not stay on its base it falls to one side since base is soft and not even. The Bad and the Ugly; through winter time I used this bag and on top of my coat, which I really liked, but lately I noticed the material at the back of the bag is not wool coat friendly. The natural heap movement of walking caused bag to rub the lover back section of the coat . The friction created by the mash material and bumpy structure of the bag’s back has eaten away the coats material made it all fluffy and even there is a hole on the effected section now. Unfortunately I did not notice it until it’s too late, now my brand new coat is not usable at all. The product does not warn user for using it with a wool coat at all.
