My Backpack, a Quechua, fits inside well with a little room to spare. It will keep it safe and undamaged when in airports again.
Perfect for transport and protection for plane. Used for 80l.
Used this to cover my backpack plus got extra items in it for 10 weeks traveling Asia, a total of 7 flights The design is brilliant, its expands if required, The strap is permanently attached at one end, it easily unclips and is stored away in its own little pocket so it can not be lost ever Best travel item I have bought in a long time 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Exactly as described - it holds a full 65 litre rucksack easily and there’s the extra capacity if you need it. Material appears to be hard wearing and the handle is sturdy and can be packed into a zipped compartment. The bag folds in on itself neatly when not in use and isn’t too bulky. Easy to padlock. Hopefully will stand up to several long haul flights and lots of bus journeys! Watch this space!
Brilliant bit of kit
I used this cover to protect my Osprey Aether 65 during a recent trip which included several flights. The fit was perfect with some spare room for a tent and potentially additional items. Based on my experience, I am not sure what one of the previous reviewers meant when they said the cover's fit was tight. The cover has a zip-up 'second stage' that can be unzipped to add extra volume. Maybe the other person did not notice this option. In addition to the expansion chamber, the cover has a shoulder strap that can be stowed away in a dedicated pocket and the entire cover folds into itself to create a neat pack for storage. The bag material and handles seem strong and the overall build quality is good. At less than half the price of Osprey's own travel cover there isn't anything more I could ask for.
Good strong bag which survived airport handling with cycling pannier bags inside plus helmet etc. And fold down to small pack.
I bought it as a cover for my 65L Osprey backpack and it was JUST enough but it was really tight. If you are planning to buy as a cover for bigger backpack - reconsider.
Looks great fits our rucksack (75ltr) Not had chance to use yet as have bought for a trip later in the year
Good quality, sturdy product and great price
Very pleased that this cover is more than adequate to cover my rucksack during air travel booking in. It stops a expensive bag getting damaged. I fully packed a 70L bag, and still had room with the extended part for other things I may buy on my month touring Peru. Very easy to access your bag without getting it all out of the carrier. Seems to be strong enough, it is well made.
I just took this bag to Mozambique as I'm a disaster response volunteer and we responded to the devastation caused by Cyclone Idai. This pack cover was used (fully expanded) to transport around 35kg of rations and water purification kit for a 4 week deployment. It was treated extremely harshly - thrown around on rough concrete floors, survived multiple flights (including multiple helicopter flights into remote areas), dragged over rough stony ground again and again, covered in mud and dirt, transported on trailers with rough splintered wood and sharp metal cross bars, crushed under aid supplies, sat on for bumpy tractor/4x4 rides and otherwise kicked, thrown pulled and yanked across various areas of the country. It's currently absolutely covered in dirt but otherwise in perfect condition. There aren't even any abrasion marks on the material, let alone any cuts or punctures. It's remarkable. The carrying handles proved remarkably resilient and the tough but lightweight material (guessing 500D or 600D nylon/cordura type material) has handled everything without a single issue. This is a cheap pack so it was abused by various members of the team who had much more important things to worry about that taking care of a bag, and the pack cover took everything in it's stride. My own backpack used in the same environment has several cuts and punctures to the outer material and that received 1/10th the abuse. This is an extremely solid bit of kit and something I'd definitely trust to use again.
My son is off on a tour of Asia and bought this as an over bag to protect his rucksack straps whilst in flight. It will serve as a second bag on way back.
I'm really impressed with the design of the flight cover. It has a shoulder strap that unclips and folds away into a pocket. The expanding section is really well designed too. It's very spacious with smaller bags and folds away into its own pocket. The fabric feels very tough and I'm looking forward to really putting it to the test on a trip to Nepal.
This bag is perfect for car booster seats (2) when travelling by plane and fab that when not in use it folds into itself to make a small pouch - brilliant idea!

Backpack technical tests
We carry out lab tests to validate all the components:fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zippers, etc. For example, for a fabric:resistance to abrasion and tearing, colorfastness in UV light, after washing, waterproofing, etc. Then the finished product undergoes an accelerated test replicating the stresses on the bag over several years to test the strength of the assemblies. The backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy, which then reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles
