Upright geometry Suspension fork
Btwin hybrid tires allow use on both road and light off-road situations
Reflectors included for visibility
As an avid cyclist, I needed a bike that I can use daily for commuting to work from home and the Riverside 500 does just that! It has a relaxed geometry that keeps you upright as you ride and it has enough gears to take on moderately steep hills. At certain times when I had to get off the road as traffic was heavy, I could just ride up onto the kerb and do a bit of off road. The front suspension does its job of soaking the bumps. The disc brakes are really good and stops adequately. The 9 speed rear cassette and single chain ring at the front is easy to operate with Btwin's own Microshift thumb and index finger shifter. My overall opinion is that for such an affordable price tag, this bike will give higher specs bike a run for their money. I highly endorse the Riverside 500!
Great value
I bought the Riverside 500 around an year back from Bedok Decathlon and it is fantastic bike, I can ride 40/50 Km without much Stress and I definitely feel it is worth for its price. I would like explore for some upgrade option like tyres and gears. Is it possible to upgrade the 9 speed gears say 1x11 or more? Tyres? Please let me know any other upgrade options available. Is the upgrade option available in Bedok Decathlon? Thanks in advance and recommend for beginners 30km-50km.
A very decent bike for its price! This is a good entry level bike for someone who wishes to pick up regular cycling. Would be perfect if it came with a front derailleur as well.
Not a cycling enthusiast by any means but I've been using this bicycle for almost a year now for both work commutes (30 min one way) and some leisure cycling along the park connectors. Not the most gentle user as well but this bike has remained in good condition and didn't need any servicing or repair till date.
Purchase this awesome bike last night (10/4/19) from Decathlon outlet @ Jookoon. Chris (service staff) was super patient and knowledgeable on all range of products. He was very patient towards me and explaining about what are the different bikes and functions to suit my personal needs. Cutting the long story short, i got what i wanted and was within my budget range. Was super happy and content what this bike got to offer as it works fantastic both on the road and park trials. Highly recommend this park for beginners (like myself) who dont want to spend too much, but at the same time getting a decent bike to kick start a healthy lifestyle.
Just Bought This Bike And It's Awesome ! It Can Go Fast Easily (60 KM/H) And Can Handle Some Off Road Mountain Riding. Would Recommend It To Others Because Of It's Good Price And Great Product.
I own this bike for about 2 month and could easily say that the bike justifies the price. 9 speed single gear, cable disk brake, front suspension, full aluminium frame are by default. After a month of using, I upgraded the following, 1) from cable disk brake to hydraulic disk braking system as the default cable type disk brake caliber tend to stop the disk using one side of the pot making emergency stop dangerous at high speed. 2) 9 speed is a bit too boring hence upgraded to 11x3(33 speed). Actually I never expect the frame and wheel set able to upgrade easily unlike some supermarket brand. Hence I would give it a 5 star on that.
I am an avid cyclist who cycle for health training. Initiate try out at the store was that the Riverside 500 is rather nimble given the price. I took it to ride for with a mileage in excess of 700 km, my impression of the 500 is surprise and positive. As I cycle on PCN & road mixed, speed and rigidity of the frame apart from nimbleness are critical. I found this bike is able to handle relatively high speed (>40km/h) without feeling jittery or sense of out-of-control. The frame provides a very secure and solid feel even at the upper-end speed limit that the stock bicycle can do. Only wish the crank comes in at least twin crank and a 10-speed cassette that I believe is not difficult and expensive to upgrade. Otherwise, it would have been 5-star for me.
Purchased this hybrid as I'm new to riding - found it very easy to get used to and a great first bike. Good value for money considering weight and 9 gears.
With total of 9 gears levels and excellent tyre size and grip, this makes it very good for commuting and leisure cycling in city.
