Perfect travel/ leisure board for gentle paddling

Bought as a holiday board for use with public transport. Packs down very light and small and have carried on my bike rack/ on a bus/ train - all fine. Needs a partial book-fold to fit in bag - look at the diagrams on the bag ! Fins slip in fine and very nice leash. You’ll need a paddle - a 5-piece will strap on outside fine. Also need a pump, the basic Decathlon one works fine and is quick. Can also strap on other side of bag. Found it easy to stand and paddle in calm sea. Never going to win races or zoom along in straight line but was great for close to shore and exploring the rocky coves in the south of France. I’m average 5,5 woman. Note that the board should be stored folded loosely - only compact for transport. Only used twice but very pleased. Would recommend. I stuck a camera mount in the front. Product ideally would be 32” wide and maybe 6” longer. I’ve the compact 9,3 Red board at home and altho the Red better overall quality, the decathlon board is perfect for all the travel needs and leisure use - lighter and smaller.

I highly recommend

Hello, I had some hesitations while buying the product. .but I'm glad we didn't. We bought it to use with my 9-year-old twin sons. We use it in a family canoe for 3 people. It's comfortable to carry. It's easy to carry and it inflates in a very short time. Extremely balanced. The double keel has made a difference in this regard. It can go pretty straight. Full price peeformans The product.

Defective product

The meetings have been opened. They are unreliable. I have taken it to be repaired but I do not understand that having been extremely careful with the product, the joints have suddenly come unstuck, deflating the board. It is a factory fault that now they will return me a repaired defective product. Until it breaks again perhaps in the middle of navigation.

practical

I have been using the product for a month, I chose it because its bag is small, but it is very difficult to fold and place it in the bag. It would be great if they sell big bags for the decathlon board.

Sup

This is my first sup, so I have no basis for comparison. I also rowed the Danube with it, and it was stable even then. It's a perfect choice for a start, it can hold a lot of stuff.

Perfect for touring without a car

Since we don't have a car, we have been using compact boards from different brands for our SUP tours for years. The new Compact SUP from Itiwit is even smaller and lighter than our previous boards. The tiny pack size is made possible by attaching the separately available paddle and pump to the outside of the backpack. The backpack is easy to carry, but can also be rolled up small and carried along with the pump, clothes and food in a 30l drybag on tours. We have now used the board on various lakes for longer tours. With its short but wide shape, the board is very stable, even on smaller waves. Despite the short, wide shape, it's not much slower than other all-round boards. Of course you have to switch sides a little more often when paddling, but overall the tracking is surprisingly good despite the short design and the short fins. The fins could be a weak point: they look like cheap plastic. Decathlon could still improve here. The fastening system of the fins, on the other hand, is simply ingenious: easy to install and no key is required as an accessory. The valve is also revolutionary, where, in contrast to conventional valves, you can hardly do anything wrong. It's just a pity that you can't use a Silent Air Remover with this new system. Maybe Decathlon could still invent a suitable silencer? Thanks to its compact shape, the board is quickly inflated. Folding it together is no problem at all and is very quick. The board is halved lengthways and then folded (not rolled like other Compact SUP). The soft, thin handle and leash attachment contributes greatly to the thin pack size, but is also comfortable to lie on the board. By the way, we also like the ultra-light leash and wish it could be bought separately. We are absolutely delighted with this board. Now we hope that Decathlon will also develop a compact SUP for advanced paddlers and longer tours. Our suggestion would be 10'4 x 32". To make the board even lighter and more compact, you could omit the deck pad in the rear area (behind the orange line); after all, you don't do any tricks on the tail end when touring. The divided luggage net On the other hand, we would replace it with a single large one, because you take all your luggage with you and need at least a 30l drybag for longer tours from A to B. Maybe Decathlon could also produce the backpack of the board as a drybag?

DEFECTIVE PADDLE

Shortened first use, there was a small hole and therefore a leak on the top of the paddle. There are also signs of wear at the fold of the paddle. I brought this paddle to Decathlon Narbonne who only offered me a refund. This model is no longer being made. Very disappointed for a product sold by decathlon, as well as after-sales service. We would have appreciated a commercial gesture other than a refund from Decathlon.

Light and easy to transport

Very practical for short journeys. It is very light and folded takes up very little space. It can be taken on a bike or scooter

Good

For 1 person it is ideal, it needs to be very full to be stable

Great product for venturing out on the water

We easily hold 2 above. It is very stable. All the people who tried manage from the first time to stand up (when there are no waves). Afterwards I find that it does not go very straight when you do long distances ... but that must come from the person who paddles ;o) Compactness is a HUGE asset. For the folding, no problem, you have to fold it a first time then fold it in 2 and finish the folding...exactly like an inflatable floor mat. I would even say that there is still plenty of room in the bag afterwards, which is practical. The rubber bands, although small, allow you to wedge shoes, a waterproof bag, a bottle of water with a carabiner to secure it. Maybe I'll take it out this winter, it's so peaceful to be on the water without noise. Mainly used on waveless lakes.

Eco-design

An 12% reduction in CO2 impact:We have developed a drop stitch that is lighter and better suited to the shape of the board to provide the same performance with less material. In addition, 50% of the backpack has been dope-dyed.This process allows the thread to be dyed at the moment it is produced, rather than submerging the fabric in large dying baths. This reduces water consumption and reduces discharges of waste water and CO2.
