Product Customer Reviews
bought in store €460 SERVED ONCE A YEAR with all the recommended care huge leak (bad gluing) over 8cm no longer covered by warranty at €170 per bladder I am at an impasse in short a canoe good for the trash because it cannot be repaired, at the store I was advised itiwit for reliability and after-sales service, a little disappointed.
To any future buyer, be aware that despite the price, this part of the kayak will probably fail you in the near future. I note with disappointment when reading the reviews that the problem I encounter with this bottom bladder is in fact very common. I bought the Itiwit 3-seater kayak 3 years ago now for summer use. I must have used it about twenty times in total. From the 3rd use, a leak occurred on the underside of the drop and stitch bladder at the glue points. I am now on the second repair kit to repair numerous leaks and it continues. With as a highlight my last kayak outing planned for the day but which finally turned into a 10-minute round trip because barely a hundred meters from the starting point and fortunately close to the coast, a new leak this time of major importance occurred. In less than 5 minutes the entire bladder deflated. We ended up flat in the bottom of the kayak, paddling year after year. I now fear that repairs will no longer be possible and especially that this will continue to happen endlessly. I invested in this kayak hoping to bet on quality in relation to the price, but I am very disappointed with this problem of solidity of this part of the kayak. And when I see the price of €170 for a replacement bladder, I no longer plan to be able to use the kayak because I will not replace this part, unfortunately much too expensive. I should point out that we always use the kayak very respectfully, rinsing it after each use, storing it flat and that with my partner we only weigh 70 and 60 kg respectively. Suffice to say that it is not because of excess weight that the problems encountered occurred. We contacted the Decathlon closest to us, but due to the relative age of the purchase and unfortunately the absence of proof of purchase that we have not found, they simply invited us to buy a new bladder. Until now always very satisfied with Decathlon products, it is a great disappointment to note in view of the investment that this represents, several hundred euros, that this part of the kayak has such a weakness and that this is recurrent, not being clearly an isolated case.
Super smooth exchange, warranty is now ending. Hopefully finally after 3x repair now further sailing without defects.
Like many users, a weld on the bladder failed during my tenth sea trip with my wife. What anxiety during the 1h30 return trip... very disappointed to see a product that we thought was high-end victim of such a design problem that was clearly known after so little use.
I am disappointed with this product for the second time! . I first had a leak after very little use at the peripheral weld...after reporting it, Decathlon replaced it for free! Then, same thing again this year with the new one! ...still the same fault!!! I will try to take it off, but I don't think so! ... In any case, I won't spend €170 for next year!
Very good quality product but the thickness welds loose after about ten outings. Design to be reviewed -> to be done on the complete thickness and not partial. Having had this problem no repair kit worked apart from mine :) -> two-component epoxy resin solution by gluing the welds + spreading a thickness of resin on top. It is not the cleanest and be careful with folding when storing but holds. (Inflated, load of 160kg or 2 people applied on it) to be seen over time
I bought this canoe to sail on lakes. It is practical, easy to use, efficient...but the quality is really deplorable! I store it carefully flat, away from the sun, and use it 4 to 5 times a year. Purchased at the end of July 2022...the gluing of the high pressure bottom failed on August 1, 2024. That is 2 years and a few days after purchase, around ten uses, and the warranty is just over. Given the price of the product, it is better to rent a rigid canoe! Too bad, the concept was good, but the execution was really poor quality!
Same, I've had the x100 3p canoe for 3 years. About ten outings. The glued weld on the bottom just came loose in the open sea. I'm extremely disappointed, especially since it's no longer under warranty and I no longer have the ticket.
2 years and three weeks ago I bought the Itiwit X100+ kayak for 2-3 people. Unfortunately I only used it about 12 times, but two days ago the weld on the drop stitch floor suddenly started leaking. We had a lot of fun with the kayak, but unfortunately I now have to replace the expensive floor at my own expense, even though I have always treated it very carefully and kept to the prescribed pressure when inflating it. This is very annoying three weeks after the warranty expired.
I would like to edit a previous comment. I am basically the unhappy Yann. Since Decathlon has sent me a new bottom at their expense (a bladder). I also used it again this summer in Dordogne with my wife who had her two-seater itiwit high pressure. Professionalism on their part I am really satisfied thank you very much for your seriousness and for the respect you show to your customers.
Unfortunately, as many users have already written, dropstitch fails when gluing layers. Gluing it won't help because it keeps leaking in a new place. This is some kind of manufacturing defect and there should be a free replacement campaign. My kayak is 3 years old but I've probably only used it 10 times. I store it unfolded so that it doesn't bend and so on. I am very disappointed because it is not such a cheap product. And even if it was cheap, I would also be disappointed, after all, when you lose air in a kayak in the middle of a lake, it's no longer fun.
The solder failed as everyone does not have a ticket and no one takes my money back. The brand recognizes the weakness but without proof of purchase I cannot exchange my fund. Cholet even said that they were going to call me back... pfffffff Really not serious and very disappointed on their part
Hello a priori, recurring problem in view of the numerous comments left by other customers! the copy needs to be reviewed as to the solidity of the junctions on this product for my part used about ten times in 2 years and suddenly came off while we were on the kayak in the middle of a lake.... I'll let you imagine anguish! Incidentally, would it be possible to tell us the duration of the warranty on the replacement bladders? thank you in advance
I'm on my 3rd Stitch drop in 2 season.... Known design problem in the factory and in the store, bad gluing, bad glue 😡😡😡
Fragility which seems to be confirmed in everyone in terms of plastic welds. The leak isn't huge, but I have to re-inflate it every 24 hours. The basic change will be done under warranty (although it is no longer in stock) but what about after 2 years? (190 euros the bottom all the same).
