I bought a size 30 for a size 29. So far so good. The problem is that after purchasing a month ago, the shoes allow water to enter the toes. Initially I thought it was due to perspiration, until yesterday, both feet came with wet socks on the toes. I put my hands inside my sneakers and check that they are wet. I can't figure out where the water comes from. So in my case there is no waterproofing. Otherwise, everything's fine.

Durable and comfortable

My son is the third or fourth pair he has worn since he was little. Since they are comfortable, warm and waterproof for winter. Very good product.

beautiful waterproof shoes

I got these shoes for my son as a waterproof sports shoe for school or for trekking to avoid spending 100 euros on a shoe like the Salomon speedcross, these are really very similar for much less money, knowing that a child has to change them every year you save a lot and the value for money is really good, I've been using them for a few weeks and they seem very good

Good product

My children wear them super comfortable

Feet grow but…

The feet are growing but we remain faithful to this reference already the 3rd pair over the years. They are used very frequently, a safe bet. Comfort, grip and waterproofing

The Velcro strip broke immediately!

Good grip, easy to put on but the velcro strip broke immediately. The first time we sewed it, the second time when it was lost we were unable to repair it and the shoe with a lot of life left in it can no longer be used. They could improve in a stronger system.

Not waterproof.

Normal rain in the city = wet sock inside.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Upper of: 50.0% Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Outer sole of: 70.0% Butadiene Rubber, 30.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

Sole grip

The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To approve these tests, we then have the quality of our soles evaluated in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of kid testers.

Waterproofing test

Tested both in the lab and real-world usage, this footwear guarantees optimum waterproofing and breathability. To start, they are immersed in water with pressurized air inside to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the boot. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.For this model, the test lasted the equivalent of 5 miles in the conditions listed above.

Making waterproofing last longer

A boot's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the boot. So to keep your feet dry for longer, it's advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent water as well as pebbles, sand, etc. from getting inside through the top. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Buying tips

Allow kids to try on both boots, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several styles and sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to allow then to walk around the store. Gradually start using your boots during your 1st few hiking trips to break them in.

Which size should you select?

For hiking, do not hesitate to buy 1 size larger than the usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and to avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the boot. Tip: Keep your toenails short, and before going downhill at any time, check that your laces are tight enough to stop your feet slipping down toward the front of the boots.

Removable insole

Removable insole for faster drying. It can also be replaced by an orthopedic insole.

Our environmental approach

Because we are aware that we must act to preserve our playground, Quechua is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its products. Today, this product is not eco-designed, but we work every day to make it more responsible: Eco-design, repairability, and sustainability are at the heart of our developments.

Product testing

Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are beautiful, simple, and technologically advanced. These are then ruthlessly tested in the field, as we remain convinced that only through rigorous testing under real world conditions, like the ones you will be using them in, can we continue to provide you with better products than ever.

Storage instructions

Store the boots in a dry place.
