Very good shoes, tested while hiking in the Pyrenees this weekend by my 8 year old daughter. They are very comfortable, easy to put on and take off. At a very reasonable price.

Originally bought to ride a pony, my daughter never takes them off (walking, cycling, etc.)... given the weather: we haven't yet tested the waterproofing... but we are quite satisfied.. .

Additional Product Information

Composition

Upper of: 50.0% Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Outer sole of: 70.0% Butadiene Rubber, 30.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

Sole grip

Sole design that has been the subject of extensive research in our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and traction. Because all needs are different, we always search for the best compromise for muddy and dry terrain.

Buying tips

Ask your child to try on both shoes, with the socks used for hiking. Try on several models and sizes if necessary. Check the following 2 areas of comfort: the heel and the front of the foot when going downhill. There should be no compression points when fitting. Do not hesitate to have your child walk in the shop. Gradually increase the amount of time they wear the shoes during the first walks to break the shoes in.

Which size should you choose?

For hiking, do not hesitate to choose 1 size above your usual size to ensure optimal comfort when going downhill and prevent your toes from hitting the front of the shoe. Advice: keep your toenails short and, before making your descent, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding toward the front of the boot.

Making waterproofing last longer

The waterproofing of shoes is often compromised because water gets in at the collar of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, it is therefore advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent not only water from getting inside through the top, but also pebbles, sand, etc. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Leak test

Footwear leak test: laboratory and field-tested, boots with a breathable, waterproof membrane that guarantees you optimal protection from the rain. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the shoe’s surface. When half immersed, they are placed on a mechanical arm that simulates walking: we then check that the inside of the boot remains perfectly dry.

Product testing

All our shoes undergo field tests in the Mont Blanc mountain range. These are conducted by users who are representative of our target market under similar conditions to those you will encounter in use.

Storage instructions

Store the shoe in a dry, ventilated place.
