Kid's waterproof Hiking Jacket

Well made and fits perfectly. This is a quality product withstanding heavy rain easily, and good fit of hood. Definitely recommend this item.

Very lightweight and thin

I was expecting it to have some wind stop on front but it’s super thin and I don’t expect it would offer much wind stop do returning

Great kids jacket!

Packs nice and small for travel / school. Generous fit in the sleeve & cuffs. Very well priced!

Ridiculously small

My 7-year-old is smaller than average and this coat (I bought age 7-8) is still too small. In fact, it's even smaller than his previous coat, which is age 5-6. You need to go one or even two sizes up.

Very nice jacket, nice colour.

A wee bit on the small size, but very light and waterproof.

Amazing value for money.

Always hard buying quality outdoor clothing for children as they grow out of it so fast! Thus jacket is really good value and robust enough for my 11 year old son.

Additional Product Information

Main fabric

  • 100% Polyester cationic

Main lining

  • 100% Polyester cationic

  • 100% Polyurethane

Component waterproofing

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). Waterproofing is expressed in Schmerbers (for example: 2,000 Schmerbers).

Component breathability

To assess the breathability of the fabric, the evaporative resistance, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard), is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.

Durability of the components

Resistance to wear and abrasion test: For example, we check that our fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Color-retention test: The colorfastness is verified to ensure that the colors do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Aging test: Repeated washing should not affect the fabric's properties, behavior, thickness, or appearance.

Product environmental impact comparison score

The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its full lifecycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE mark is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing similar products to each other (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labeling approach. For more info:

1/ Machine wash (86 to 104°F): Fasten rip-tabs and use mild detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 2/ Avoid folding the garment too much in the washing machine, as: This can damage it. 3/ Do not mix the clothing styles and the colors. 4/ Do not use bleach. 5/ Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle. 6/ Either line or tumble dry (low temperature, short cycle).

Product testing

Our Decathlon SportsLab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. It brings together 4 themes, each with their own area and technological tools: Body shape (3D analysis in particular) Movement science Thermal comfort (with its 4 climatic chambers) Behavioral and sensory sciences
