Ideal for children

They are all terrain, they are used from bad weather to summer. After this period they are impeccable as if they had just been released.

Good shoes

Sturdy walkers

Sturdy walkers, fit one size smaller. They are useful for children who still have some difficulty tying ties. The big downside is that the ventilation is 0 for these shoes. If your child has sweaty feet, it is difficult to ventilate the shoes properly. The insole can be removed, but even then it takes >48 hours for the toes to dry in the shoe!!!!

not bad

Buy a pair for children to climb mountains, and even wear them to the snow in Hokkaido, they are all non-slip! The CP value is very good!

Additional Product Information

Composition

Upper of: 50.0% Polyurethane, 50.0% Polyester ; Outer sole of: 70.0% Butadiene Rubber, 30.0% Ethylene Vinyl Acetate ; Lining and sock of: 100.0% Polyester

Sole grip

Sole design that has been the subject of extensive research in our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and traction. Because all needs are different, we always search for the best compromise for muddy and dry terrain.

Purchase advice

Let your child try on both boots, standing up, with the socks used for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check the following 2 areas of comfort: the heel and the front of the foot when going downhill. There should be no compression points when fitting. Do not hesitate to have your child walk in the shop. Gradually increase the amount of time they wear the shoes during the first walks to break the shoes in.

Which size should you choose?

For hiking, do not hesitate to choose 1 size above your usual size to ensure optimal comfort when going downhill and prevent your toes from hitting the front of the shoe. Advice: keep your nails short and, before making your descent, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding toward the front of the shoe.

Making waterproofing last longer

The waterproofing of shoes is often compromised because water gets in at the collar of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, it is therefore advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent not only water from getting inside through the top, but also pebbles, sand, etc. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Waterproofing test

Footwear waterproofing test: laboratory- and field-tested, boots with a breathable, waterproof membrane ensure you have optimum protection from the rain. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. They are half immersed and then placed on a mechanical arm that simulates walking: we then check that the inside of the boot remains perfectly dry.

3 levels of waterproofing

During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, i.e. 2,000 flexes (about 2 hours of hiking), 4,000 flexes (about 4 hours of hiking) and 8,000 flexes (about 8 hours of hiking). The kids Crossrock waterproof shoe is waterproof for 4,000 flexes.

Product testing

All our shoes are tested in use near the Mont Blanc mountain range by the target users under the same conditions as they would experience in real-life use.

Storage instructions

Store the shoes in a dry, ventilated place.
