Product Customer Reviews

The kids use these for filing but ended up playing in a storm with them. Surprisingly, it kept them dry!

My daugher want to wear only this one.good light jacket
Great coat, I have recommended it to my friend.
This jacket looks great and does the job
Perfect buy
My son loves this jacket. Nice design,it looks just like his dads! Well chuffed
Nice colour and waterproof.
Great colour, fit and very waterproof
This jacket looks great and it’s well made for such a small price, the only negative is that the sizing seems quite small (same for a lot of Decathlon clothing) my son is a stocky 11 year old and I had to buy age 14, saying that the length and arms are fine. It’s a shame that he will soon be out of the children’s sizing as it’s the largest available.
Recommend this coat, especially for kids going back to school. Really comfortable wish they would have this available for adults.
Fits well, comfy and struggling to get my daughter out of it so a winner
Brought size 10 for tall slim 9 year old. Lovely fit as quite slim so doesn’t look bulky on him. Only criticism is the hood isn’t quite big enough so tight in length and sits at top of forehead. Otherwise great simple waterproof jacket.
This coat fits well, lovely bright colour for a rainy day. My son's favourite colour
Thanks for the great feedback! New colours will be arriving next spring if your son goes off yellow in the meantime!

Composition
Main fabric

Main lining

How do we guarantee waterproofing (ability not to allow water to penetrate)?
With a coating: a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of the fabric. It stops water from penetrating into the clothing but lets the water vapor produced by the body escape. Thus keeping you dry. With the injected plastic front zipper (like those of the pockets), which resists the oxidation of the salt thanks to the special shape of its teeth. In combination with a zipper flap with drainage, it guarantees optimal waterproofing.
How do we test the waterproofing?
The resistance of the fabric is subjected to the water column test (ISO 811 standard), or a water pressure expressed in mm of a water column. The higher the pressure of the water is without passing through the fabric, the more it is waterproof it is. A component with that is waterproof to 2000 mm therefore resists the pressure of 2000 mm of water. We then test the waterproofing of the entire product: validated by a shower test under 100 liters of water / m2 / hour for 3 hours.
How do we guarantee breathability?
With a coating: a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of the fabric. It stops water from penetrating into the clothing but lets the water vapor produced by the body escape. Thus keeping you dry. Made using 2 materials (nylon and mesh), the lining has been specially designed for optimum moisture wicking.
How do we test breathability?
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET, (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). It is its ability to allow the water vapor produced by the body during exercise to escape
How do we guarantee water-repellency? (the product’s ability to let water flow off the surface)
The faster the water runs off without soaking into the fabric, the higher its water-repellency. This prevents the product from swelling with water and keeps it lightweight. (Not to be confused with WATERPROOFING!) This water-repellency is obtained by a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric.
How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 1: before washing
Close all zippers and flaps and remove any parts of the garment that cannot be washed. Also remember to loosen the straps and elastic parts and empty the pockets. Then turn the garment inside out to wash it.
How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 2: washing
You can wash your jacket on a synthetic cycle at 86°F or 104°F with your usual detergent. Do not use fabric softener, which could damage the existing performance of the garment, or bleach. Also take care not to bend your jacket too much when you place it in the washing machine and do not overload your machine. Using the right thermal protection based on the water temperature is essential. select a thorough rinse or double rinse to completely remove all detergent residue.
How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency step 3: drying
Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water-repellent treatment. We recommend that you lay your jacket flat on a clothes rack and leave it out to dry in the open. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator. Then place it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it back the right way around. Caution: do not overdry the garment.
How to reactivate the jacket's water-repellency
If, despite this procedure of washing and thorough rinsing followed by gentle drying in a tumble dryer, the drops of water no longer run off the surface of your jacket, we recommend that you "re-waterproof" it using a waterproofing spray sold in our stores.
Score to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire lifecycle and with different indicators. An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon chose to apply this voluntary environmental labeling system. For more information, visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
