Great value!

I bought this for camping and it’s been great so far. Very sharp blade that it kept nice and secure in its locking sheath.

Budget-friendly bushcraft/camp knife

PROS: Blade: geometry and dimensions are very good for general bushcraft and camp tasks. It's light enough that is can be easily carried. Big enough for general tasks. Sheath: Quality material with solid retention. Overall fit and finish are good. Grinds are even. Heat treat appears to be spot on (Used it to cut/scrape bamboo and wood without much edge wear, no edge rolls or chips). Blade coating is quite wear resistant. Came quite sharp out of the box (could slice paper). After proper sharpening on stones and strop, was able to split hair. CONS: Handle: ABS is a bit "squishy" and tends to flex. Harder plastic with aggressive texturing would be better. Ergonomics could be improved by changing from a rectangular cross-section to an oval one. The finger cut-out could be removed for a more grip options. Steel: While 5Cr15 is no doubt rust/stain-resistant, tough and easy to sharpen, upgrading to, say, 8Cr13MoV would improve performance further. A carbon-steel version would be lovely especially for wood carving tasks. Sheath: Fit between belt clip and knife handle when sheathed is too tight. Design could be changed to allow easier draw as the current arrangement is a bit awkward. Also, an ambidextrous sheath would be appreciated by lefties. Spine: Could be ground square so that a ferrocerium rod could be used. More colour options could be made available. All in all, the Sika 100 is a very good bang for your buck knife. Some changes in the ergonomics and materials, while keeping the product at the same price range, would elevate it from "very-good" to "excellent".

Sheath sucks..

I bought this knife thinking this could be an alternative for morakniv knives for India. Knife is undoubtedly sharp but the sheath design is pathetic. The knife while inserting into the sheath doesn't click as described in the description of the product and hard to pull out easily when in need on the field. Sheath should be designed so that the knife can be inserted in either side keeping both left and right handers in mind. If you are a left handed then don't buy this.

Cuchillo básico a buen precio
