chaussures inconfortable

Sportivement

Outsole with grip

The grip on our soles is labeled CROSS CONTACT®. To be awarded this certification, boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip level on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field and in the mountains, using a panel of representative testers over 310 miles

Why offer the same model with two widths at the front of the foot?

Following a long study of trekker's preferences concerning the shape of boots, we have decided to design a boot available in 2 different shapes: one "classic" and one "wide". Each person can choose how much space they have inside the boots and reduce the risk of heating and blisters caused by badly fitting shoes.

How waterproof are these boots?

This boot has been validated on the waterproofing test at 30,000 repeatable flexes, i.e. 9 miles - 6 hours of walking, in water up to the mid-upper, which today guarantees the best level of waterproofing for your boots. --> Our assessment indicates a LEVEL OF 3/5 enabling 6 hour waterproofing in hiking under the rain. The details of tests carried out to assess the waterproofing of our boots is below, in the characteristics section.

Making waterproofing last longer

The waterproofing of boots is often compromised because water gets in at the collar of the boot. To keep your feet dry for longer, it is therefore advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent not only water from getting inside through the top, but also pebbles, sand, etc. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.

Care advice

1 / Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove any dirt or mud. 2/ Then leave to air-dry, away from any heat source. 3/ Finish by using a re-waterproofing spray to keep optimal water-repellency of the upper and extend the life of the boot. Which size should i choose?

WHICH SIZE SHOULD I CHOOSE? For hiking, try taking 1 boot size up from your usual to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and prevent your toes from hitting the toe box. Tip: keep your toenails short and, before descending, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding forward inside the shoe.

5 levels of waterproofing

During the waterproofing test, we test 5 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (approximately 2.5 miles, 30 minutes of walking) 10,000 flexes (approximately 6 miles, 3 hours of walking) 30,000 (approximately 9 miles, 6 hours of walking) 50,000 flexes (approximately 12.5 miles, 8 hours of walking) 100,000 flexes (approximately >12.5 miles, 24 hours of walking)

Waterproofing test

Our shoes are laboratory tested according to 2 successive tests Test 1 / We test the efficiency of the membrane only when it is pressured and placed in water, we check the absence of water at the surface, like when you test a "punctured inner tube". Test 2 / Thanks to mechanical arms that simulate walking, the assembled shoes are half immersed in water and they complete thousands of flexes to check that the inside of the shoe remains dry and it is therefore waterproof.

Buying tips / how do you try your boots on?

How to choose your shoes: 1. Try both boots on, standing up, wearing the socks you use for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces correctly 3. Check the following 2 areas of comfort: the heel and the front of the foot when going downhill. 4. Get up to walk with the shoes on. 5. Try on several sizes and several models. 6. Wear your boots for increasingly long periods to wear them in
