Great for average temperature

These are performance profile pants, which are comfortable down to -20. Going downhill at colder temperature would require thicker pants.

Great snug ski trousers

Really nice trousers. Nice fit, comfortable, waterproof, good pockets. But the best part is how well they fit round the waist with the simple velcro adjusters. Really snug and neat with no need for straps.

Superb salopettes

I am a Ski Instructor in Canada and brought these prior to the 2019/2020 season. I wore these everyday I worked for near to 5 Months (6 out of 7 days a week), in conditions ranging from warm to white-outs to rain and these held up spectacularly. These stretch wonderfully, allowing for a full range of motion, aren’t bulky in the slightest but keep you warm, and the Velcro and elastic waist belt is really easy to adjust throughout the day. Excellent product well worth the cost.

excellent product

What components are used to give my pants warmth?

To make these pants 100% stretch, we also used stretch insulation that doesn't tear. (60 g/m²). Insulation that tears will create a "cold bridge" in that area.

What is a membrane and what's it for?

The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away the perspiration produced by the body. The membrane is essential when it comes to staying warm and dry.

How is the water resistance of your pants measured?

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 12,000 mm can therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 12,000 mm of water.

How can you be sure your pants will give you proper protection in bad weather?

These pants were rigorously developed and assembled to stop water from getting in and to prevent wind chill, so you can brave the bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check their water-resistance, these pants were placed under a special shower to reproduce the conditions faced by a skier. We have checked the waterproofness of this product when skiing in various conditions over several days.

Why is water-repellency needed for your pants?

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. These pants feature water-repellent components that extend their weather resistance. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface. However, this property may deteriorate with use.

How to restore the water-repellent property of your pants?

Remember that water-repellency can be restored. To do this, put the pants in the tumble dryer on a synthetics program for 10 to 15 minutes. You can also use a waterproofing spray (sold in our stores): Spray the product evenly over the entire garment, then allow to dry for 10 to 12 hours).

What are "breathable" pants?

This garment wicks away the water vapor produced by your body when exercising. To see if a fabric is breathable, its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) is measured in a standardized ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. The 980 pants have an RET of 8. However, it's the technical solutions (zippers, vents, mesh) Wedze uses that reduce the condensation inside the garment and maximize breathability.

How should you dress to avoid having cold legs on the slopes?

To keep your legs warm and dry, 2 layers of clothing are enough: - 1 ski base layer to wick away perspiration. - 1 ski pant to protect against bad weather and provide warmth.

How can you prevent snow from getting into your pants?

Our pants have elasticated gaiters at the bottom that cover the shoes. If you fall or are in contact with fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.

What is the cut of the 980 pants?

Slim fit with an internal volume that allows these pants to be combined with a technical base layer.

How should you wash your pants?

To optimize the performance and durability of your pants, we recommend: * Machine wash at 86°F, synthetics cycle. * Turn the product inside out. * Add a small amount of detergent. No fabric softener. * We recommend you wring it by hand. * Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry-clean. Do not place on a radiator.

Product testing

All Wedze products are created, designed, and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested under the same conditions as you would experience in real-life use (snow, cold, powder snow, etc.) The design teams ensure that the product program is designed and developed to correspond perfectly to its use in the field.

Storage instructions

Store on a hanger and do not fold, as this can damage the fabric coating. Dry thoroughly before storing in a dry, well-ventilated place.
