Excellent jacket for the price.

The jacket is quite thin but is very durable and waterproof. Works well as an outer shell when layering up. I used it recently in Italy with temperartures ranging from 9 down to about -11 and it performed very well indeed. Looks cool too.

Bravo WED'ZE!

3d hood

Wed'ze has integrated a triple-tightening hood into this ski jacket designed to follow the movements of your head without impeding you for better protection against bad weather. It's compatible with wearing a helmet. The hood is preformed with a high collar to protect the face in case of intense cold or strong wind. The zipper flap is micro-perforated for easy breathing while protecting the face.

Sleeves and cuffs

Very wide and adjustable sleeves to go over the gloves to protect you from the snow to keep you dry and warm in case of snowfall, or falling in the snow. Spandex sleeves with attached thumb hole for a flawless fit and watertight seal at the glove/jacket joining point.

Pockets

1 waterproof insulated pocket for a phone (right chest) with headphone/microphone output to ride to music or stay in touch. 2 hand pockets with watertight zipper. 1 inside mesh pocket with a zipper for your mask. 1 pocket on the left shoulder for a ski pass

What should you wear under your ski jacket?

To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 ski base layer and 1 liner jacket for keeping warm, 1 ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.

The first layer

This is what keeps you dry by ensuring the transfer of perspiration from the skin to the other layers.

The second layer

To provide heat, you need a second layer that insulates you from the cold. This is the role of sweaters and fleeces, as well as jackets.

The third layer

Protection against external elements (snow, rain and wind) by preventing them from getting in (while still allowing perspiration to escape so as not to get "wet from the inside"). It is therefore ideally waterproof AND breathable. The third layer can also help insulate in the case of lined pants or jackets and thus complement the action of the second layer.

How can i prevent snow from getting in when i fall?

The snow skirt is a protection system at waist level that closes with press studs at the bottom of the ski or snowboard jacket. It prevents snow and air from getting in on the slopes and especially in the case of a fall.

How can i be sure my jacket is strong enough?

We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.

How can i best insulate my extremities?

The finishing at the end of the sleeves has adjustable velcro fastenings to go on top of or underneath gloves, allowing better water resistance and preventing snow from entering in case of a fall, or uncomfortable cold air from getting in. What's more, given that the cold is a source of irritation, Wed’ze has added a soft fleece chin guard that protects your face to avoid any risk of neck and chin irritation.

Can i be sure my jacket will protect me well in bad weather?

To tackle bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc), the FREERIDE 900 jacket was developed with a sophisticated component and assembly that prevents water from getting in and reduces wind-chill. To check that it's efficiently waterproof and watertight, this jacket has been placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier may have to cope with. Finally, we wore them for several days' skiing under all conditions to validate this waterproofness

What's the point of having a water-repellent jacket?

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to run off its surface without seeping in. The FREERIDE 900 jacket is equipped with water-repellent components that extend its weather resistance. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. You should repeat this treatment regularly using products sold in our stores to maintain these properties.

I often hear people talk about "coated" jackets. what are the advantages of this coating?

The coating is a waterproof "substance" that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapor produced by an active body to escape. So you stay dry and comfortable while hitting the slopes

What is a membrane and what's it for?

The membrane is a very fine component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.

Water often gets in through the seams. does my jacket have waterproof seams?

As well as the waterproof fabric, we increase the watertightness of our FREERIDE 900 jacket with sealed seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it completely watertight.

How will my ski jacket keep me warm?

This jacket is a third layer that's very protective against wind, rain, snow. To provide heat, you need a second layer that insulates you from the cold. This is the role of sweaters and fleeces, as well as jackets. Our range includes a FREERIDE 900 down jacket perfectly adapted to this jacket. It's sold separately.

What is a "breathable" jacket?

It's the ski jacket's ability to let moisture produced during exercise escape to the outside that helps keep you dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wed’ze uses technical components and solutions (zippers, ventilation, mesh) that help prevent condensation inside the garment.

Where can i put my ski pass when taking the ski lifts?

You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly
