Stitching, warmth, water resistance, fit, weight and style. Went through about 8 different jackets. Had no idea who this company was until I saw someone on YouTube with the 100. Justin outdoors I think. For $100 which seems very reasonable these days for down jacket, this turned out to be a seriously good deal. It is worth $100 for sure, I have spent more and got less. I am very impressed!

fits well, good quality and looks good at a great price.

Mostly good. Shell fabric prone to wearing away.

You get a lot for your money with this jacket. As a medium warmth UK winter jacket, It's great in many ways. The downside is that the shell fabric tends to wear away in places where it rubs against itself - so there are now holes on the sleeves / wrist area. Also on the waist cord area. Through these holes down/feather fill is lost. I've had other down jackets that didn't do this. Now after 2 years I'm in the process of looking for a new jacket. If the shell fabric was better I'd give this 5/5.

got faults shame

im xl bought this very snug more large short in the body too it would benefit longer at rear for back movement and sleeve extenders cheap mods but wow this would be an amazing bit of kit for sure

Good value

Great jacket, nice and warm but very lightweight, water resistance is good if caught in an unexpected light shower, but obviously it’s not fully waterproof.

Brilliantly warm

This jacket was slightly more than I wanted to pay but it is money very well spent. It is so warm that I have just been to the States where I was in the coldest weather I have experienced this winter and with just 1 layer underneath I was very comfortable. I found the sizing strange as I had to purchase a large when normally I am a medium and most of the Decathlon jackets I tried were way too small on the hips .

Really good jacket keeps me warm in all weathers, my only criticism is the delivery as they said it had been delivered when it hadn’t. I assume they do this to meet targets then just deliver the next day, thankfully I wasn’t desperate for it.

Son Coat

Nice and warm, plus squashes down to nothing. Son loves it.

icon-circle-checkmark verified purchase

It's ok, light and comfy, I personally don't find it particularly insulating for British winter use.

Top value

I liked this coat so much I bought another one after I damaged the original.

What level of warmth does this down jacket provide?

This down jacket, when worn as a 3rd layer, has a temperature rating of 14°F that was certified during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. We also tested this model under "static" conditions; its temperature rating is 32°F in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The fill power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation provided by the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic padding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather filling?

The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. It is expressed in CUIN. Consequently, the higher the fill power (i.e. the higher the CUIN number), the more space it occupies and the more air it traps thereby delivering more thermal insulation. This 85% down / 15% feather down jacket has a guaranteed fill power equal or above 660 CUIN (European standard).

* what is rds certification?

Our traceability system lets us guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and are plucked after slaughtering. We have been awarded the RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certificate by a 3rd-party organization.

Weight of the filling

2XS: 5.7 oz XS: 6 oz S: 6.3 oz M: 6.6 oz L: 7 oz XL: 7.3 oz 2XL: 7.8 oz

How to maintain a jacket filled with down and feathers?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking the link below: In brief: 1/ machine wash, 86°F, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

In case of rain

The material of the quilted jacket is water-repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the down jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Follow the guide: We recommend that you use the dip-coating care product It enables you to optimize the performance of your clothing throughout its lifespan.

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifecycle using different indicators. A general score from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc). Decathlon is committed to displaying this environmental information. For more info:

Product testing

All our down jackets are laboratory tested with 3 mph wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long-sleeved T-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, so that you can make the choice that best suits your use.

Storage instructions

Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place. Do not store folded in its pouch

Care instructions

Caring for down jackets requires special attention. Dry cleaning is recommended for this down jacket. Machine wash at 86°F, add 2 tennis balls to restore the loft of the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying is highly recommended: synthetic cycle with 3 tennis balls to restore the loft of the down; put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, which will reduce its insulating power. See the care instructions in the online guide
