Affordable but lacks intent

The shoes fit nice if bought in right size. So is the design decent. The price range the product kept in is apt. But the problem starts when it starts smelling in use of couple of times. Haven't been able to wore em back since then The product was bought less than a month back and was used just once on a trip and I had to buy a pair of slippers to resolve the problem of smelling shoes mid-trip.

Totally uncomfortable

Unlike its high ankle variant, the shoes is very uncomfortable around the front portion of the feet where the fingers bend. And the build quality is also very cheap

Additional Product Information

Composition

Upper of

  • 50% Polyurethane
  • 50% Polyester cationic

Outer sole of

  • 100% Rubber - Thermoplastic

Lining and sock of

  • 90% Polyester cationic
  • 10% Ethylene vinyl acetate

Crosscontact sole

The sole design is the product of a lengthy research process conducted in our laboratories, which has been combined with a special rubber formulation to optimize grip and traction. Given the variety of different needs, we always seek the best compromise between muddy off-road trails (like a forest path) and mineral trails (like a coastal path).

Designed for use on hiking footpaths

Our hiking footwear is designed for use on hiking footpaths. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to hiking on loose trails (e.g. forest paths made of soil) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) can accelerate the wear of your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.

How do you choose the right shoe size

Try on both shoes, standing up, with walking socks. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid any pressure points when fitting. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Break in your shoes gradually during their first hikes to adapt them to your foot.

Laboratory testing

Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging. We use these tests to improve the quality of our products and prevent the premature wear of our hiking shoes.

The shoe/sock combination has an important role.

Many different factors cause blisters during hikes: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your hiking shoes.

How do you choose the size of your hiking socks

You need to choose the right sock size for your foot to avoid any additional creasing in the sock: either because the sock is too big and therefore there is too much fabric around your foot, or because the sock is too small and is pulled toward the inside of the shoe.

How do you choose the fabric of your hiking socks

Moisture must be effectively managed when hiking: We sweat, it’s bound to happen. If your boot is breathable, it will eliminate the moisture of your perspiration: so you also have to choose a light and breathable sock If your shoe is largely waterproof, to protect you from the humidity of the rain, you will not make the same selection: it is preferable to buy socks that will absorb perspiration, to keep the moisture as far away as possible from your foot.

Which socks are adapted to the nh100 shoe?

These shoes offer a little breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. So the NH100 mid socks will be the right socks for you: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction under the sock that wicks moisture away from your foot. And they are high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.

Warranty

Our hiking shoes are guaranteed for 2 years. Our commitment? To offer you long-lasting products that you can use on all your nature hikes. Because the products we love the most are those that have had great experiences and still have lots of life in them!

Product testing

It is in France, at the foot of the Mont Blanc, that our design team imagined, thought up and designed the Quechua products. We test them in the field with other campers to assure ourselves of their comfort and resistance. We walk on as many footpaths as possible, like the Forest of Fontainebleau or those in Brittany for example, and in all weathers. These moments involve a lot of discussions. We use this to get your feedback and prepare our future collections!

Storage instructions

Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place.

Care instructions

Do not machine wash. Wash in soapy water with a brush. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry near a source of heat.
