Lovely boots

Really nice tough boots that are very comfortable when broken in properly. I have been super happy with them. However after two years of moderate hiking the grip is getting low and one of the eyelets is starting to come out. So I am very sad as they are now super comfy. Good boots for the money.

Awesome comfort

Stretches according to your feet

slippery boots

when I was purchasing I was told by the staff that this is the high level of boots for trekking and will be perfect for snow trekking too, but on the entire trek, I suffered a lot as I was not having any grip at all.

Hello Vikram

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the product.

Trek 500 Boots have cross contact grips, which is made for wet and rough surfaces while trekking but for a packed snow surface you need snow grips as trekking boots slip in hard snow. If you are trekking with a trekking organization most of them provide snow grips which is included in the package and if you are trekking solo you can buy snow grip here :

I hope the information was helpful, Kindly write back to me if you have any further queries.

Good Buy for Himalaya Trekking.

Have use it to trek to Tilicho Nepal and some minor treks. Rough Terrain and Snow. Socks remained warm too. The sole kind of helps, doesn't make you slow down. I bought it to tackle mild water(that doesn't mean jumping in a stream), rough terrain, snow so it works for me. And it is still new. -ve: Not comfortable when tight.

superb trekking shoe

superb quality

Strong Sturdy Boot

Really strong...been walking up & down mountain trails for a few weeks now...and sole is great & boot showing no real signs of wear & tear. Minus point for myself are heel blisters on one foot...but this is an individual thing & nothing to do with the boot itself.

Comfortable hiking and trail boots

The boots took just over a day and 20 km of easy walking to break in and now i hardly notice them on my feet. In the couple of weeks I've had them, I've used them to walk just over a 100km over easy trails and city streets and they have been extremely comfortable with no chafing or blisters. Havint had an opportunity to test their waterproofing in the real world but it didn't let any moisture through when kept under a running tap for a couple of minutes. Finally I like the color and asthetics of this boot. To my eyes it has a mature look that doesn't scream technical hiking boot.

Not Advised for regular trekking use

I bought this shoe last september , went to the Sandhakphu trek to break it in. proved well and suitable but the hike was very easy. Then on the second trek I used it at tapovan. The shoe leather becomes hard in cold weather and chaffs of the skin. This is a major setback for the shoe. Also the leather has the tendency to absorb moisture and water and gets heavier as your trek progresses ( the shoes are already really heavy as compared to it's counterparts - 2.6 Kg that means 1300 grams weight per leg). But suddenly on the second day the left shoe pasting came off half way while crossing some rock boulder area, and water started to accumulate inside the shoe, giving me terrible sores and bleeding, cold legs at that altitude. The grip although was good throughout. the verdict is you cannot use these for moderate treks, the weight very high, leather becomes hard and brittle and my particular product might have some quality issue so the pasting came off. And all these even when I had not used them in Snow. Don't know how they will perform in such terrain. I took the shoe to my nearest decath store, and they graciously took back the product as it was in warranty. I took Trek 100 model instead in exchange. Hope they perform well.

Warranty not honoured

I got this shoes in March. The colour of shoes has faded after I washed it when I came back from a trek. I don’t mind the colour as after polish it looks somewhat better. But now a sole ship has come off it. The store refuses to accept it under warranty as warranty only covers “pasting and stitching and nothing else”. Why are we fooled in the name of 2 year warranty?

Hello Mayank

We apologize for the hassle you had to go through. Please write back to me with some product photos. We will find a best possible solution for your issue.

Footwear waterproofing test.

These boots, which have been laboratory and field tested, are equipped with a waterproof membrane that provides optimum waterproofing and breathability. First, the boot is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking and half-immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.

3 levels of waterproofing.

In the impermeability test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk), 4000 flexes (about 5-mile walk) 8000 flexes (about 10-mile walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the boot regains its original waterproofing once dry.

Footwear waterproof rating.

The TREK 500 boot has been tested and validated for 8000 flexes, equivalent to a 10-mile walk, in water reaching the middle of the upper.

Laboratory tests

Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: - secure fastening of eyelets and hooks - sole assembly - toxicology - UV resistance - abrasion of the sole and upper components - accelerated aging.

Care instructions

Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the boot and remove dirt or mud residue. Then, air-dry away from any heat source. Finish with a nourishing cream to keep the leather nice and flexible and prolong the lifespan of the boot.

Buying tips

Try on both shoes, while standing up, with socks worn for hiking. Try several models and sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually wear in your boots during your first few hikes so that they conform to your feet.

Trek 500 boots are made in the European Union, in Romania. Most of the materials are of European origin.

Product testing

All of our boots are tested for initial comfort and comfort during use, by users who represent the target market, and under the same conditions as you would encounter in use. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who aren't affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.

Storage instructions

Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated place.

Care instructions

Use the brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove dirt or mud residue. Always brush in the same direction to give nubuck its original look. The use of cream or waterproof grease on split leather is not recommended. This is not problematic in itself, but it would change the shoe's esthetic look.
