Very comfortable and durable

Heavy wear and still holds up very well. It looks 8/10 after more than 2 years

Perfect shoe for hot days

Very happy with the purchase, very ventilated shoes and perfect for after long walks. Comfortable, light and with excellent breathability. Recommended.

Generally good!

Slipper type shoes. I like the design, it's also breathable and perfect for everyday use. However, the bulging of the arch of the foot seemed to be strong for me, and I felt a sense of pressure, but overall it was good.

3rd Pair (own mistake) I rate them highly!

I rate these really highly! As the title suggests, I am on my third pair. Not due to any fault of the product; my first pair shrank in the washing machine on a dry cycle and the second pair I bought were reduced in-store and must've been a mis-label (I later discovered that they were a half size too small when I came to check my purchase on the Decathlon app). It is too late to return them now, but I am buying a 3rd pair. These have been used for 15+ mile hikes up to Lac Cornu from Chamonix, a hike up Mt Baron near Annecy and a couple of mountains in the Lakes - all during dry, hot weather. What surprises me the most about them is their durability and grip(!). They are such a comfortable trainer and keep relatively cool compared to boots. I hike a lot and prefer these to boots in summer.

Perfect shoes

I am buying them for the second time, they have lasted an incredible distance and they are still decent. Very wide toe like barefoot, great for wide feet

Pretty cool

Durable and lightweight. Very comfortable with the addition of a thicker insole. Perfect for summer days because they dissipate heat well.

Lightweight and cool

I’ve returned to to buy another pair. Really rate these for lightweight comfort and practicality outdoors.

Grippy soles on natural footpaths

The sole’s design is the result of long research carried out in our labs. It is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and resistance. Because you don't always have the same requirements, we always seek the best compromise to walk on natural paths with loose ground, like forest footpaths for example.

Designed for use on off-road trails.

Our walking shoes are designed for use on off-road trails. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to hiking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) may lead to premature wear on your boots and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.

Laboratory tested

Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: tearing of the eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and components of the upper, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.

How to choose the size of my walking boots?

Try on both shoes standing up and wearing the socks worn for hiking. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: - the fit on the heel - the front of the foot when descendingAvoid all compression points when fitting. Feel free to walk around the store. Break in your boots gradually during their first hikes to adapt them to your foot.

The boot/sock combination plays an important role

There are multiple factors that may cause blisters when you are walking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a boot size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking boots.

How to choose the size of my walking socks?

You must choose the right sock size for your foot so that there are no additional creases in the sock: If your socks are too big, there will be too much material around your feet, if your socks are too small, they will get pulled inside the shoe.

How to choose the fabric of my walking socks

Moisture must be effectively managed when walking: We sweat; it’s bound to happen. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away moisture from your perspiration. It is therefore necessary to choose a light and breathable sock as well. If your boots are relatively waterproof, you will not make the same choice to protect you from the moisture of the rain: choose a sock that will absorb your sweat, and direct it as far as possible away from your foot.

What socks should you wear with the nh500 fresh boot?

We recommend that you choose a pair of socks made of polyamide, without cotton. Polyamide is a fiber that is specially chosen for its capacity to eliminate moisture. So when you sweat, the socks made of polyamide will eliminate any moisture. Then, your shoes will take over the task of wicking away the moisture to the outside thanks to the ventilated mesh. For this, we recommend the Newfeel WS500 Fresh socks.

Product testing

At the foot of the Mont Blanc, in France, our design team imagines, draws and designs Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. Fontainebleau forest, Brittany or in Corsica for example. We headed out onto as many different terrains as possible, in all weather conditions. This testing gives us plenty of opportunities to discuss the products, get your feedback and plan our future collections!

Storage instructions

We recommend that you keep your boots away from the damp and light, and if possible in a ventilated place.
