These shorts are light, yet a very tough material. FYI, I just used them for 5 days so far. They have a light weight belt that adjusts by Velcro - great design! They have adequate pockets with one zippered. I'm slim and usually take a 32 waist, so the M was prefect (plus the adjustable belt makes for a great fit).
Comfortable and stylish, but some features like details could be better.
They tell you that you should buy the next size up, which I did, but the pants are still very tight. Otherwise they are good pants.
Thank you for reviewing you NH500 shorts. Sorry to hear you are not completely satisfied with the fit. You are correct to go up a size for our products. These are also a fitted cut and may need an extra size. Or it might just not be the right fit. Glad to hear they were good pants otherwise.

Smart and comfortable. Just as good as my Jack Wolfskin walking shorts. Velcro and popper fasteners for a secure and adjustable fit.
These shorts are tight, and not in the waist area, but the the crotch point, i always have to keep pulling them down because well they bother the boys while walking. Also, if they get wet they darken like 5 shades, which results in awkwardness after washing hands in the bathroom 9/10 times.
Good fit. True to size. Comfortable for all day hiking and lots of useful pockets. Can’t fault them for the price.

Wrong size stated on labels, they are a size too small, surely Decathlon know there is an issue with this, some sort of signage would help instead of only finding out when you get home..... Not impressed at all
Same size as trousers I ordered but these were too small when trousers were perfect so I returned the shorts

Handy pockets, so many but don't want to weigh the shorts down!
The price was great, and they looked good. Very comfortable to wear with enough movement for cross country walking. They also seem fairly hard-wearing which is a bonus.

Sizing advice
These shorts have a straight cut that is neither too close, nor too loose fitting. Its length is above the knee. The material in the shorts contains spandex. If you are between sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller size. When you buy them, or after washing, the shorts may seem tight, but they relax a little with use (like jeans containing spandex).

Thanks to your feedback, we have improved the design and concept of our NH500 shorts. In this new model, we have changed the component to add spandex (2%) to improve your freedom of movement. The component is also lighter. We have also changed the shape of the shorts and increased the depth of the pockets to limit the loss of objects. Finally, we have improved the cut of the shorts at the crotch.
