Product Customer Reviews

WATERPROOF AND WARM
These are great trousers are great value. Great fit and quality all for £35. You can’t ask for more.
Very comfortable absolutely fantastic
I have a few pairs if these,,, great for everything,, I use on my motorbike for enduro as they fit over my knee pods.. totally waterproof.
These trousers are waterproof, breathable, they are listed for hiking, but I bought them for skiing for my teenage sons, my children quickly get hot in normal material, as the sun can be very hot before Christmas and from February on up in the mountains. These trousers are light weight, the material has got a fantastic touch, colour and they have outside zippers up to the side pockets which makes it easy to put them over ski boots, they wear EU size 46 and 48, 46 is L-XL, 48 is XL and they fit perfectly. The only thing is, inside at the bottom of the trousers are no cuffs, it's not possible because of the zip. If you would do sledding in these trousers, snow would come up along your boots, as you have your feet always next to your sledge on the ground. The boys will also wear on those freezing days one of Decathlon's long johns under it.
I use these pants mainly for sailing. On the upside. It is pretty sturdy and it slips on and off pretty easily thanks to the side-zippers. The waist and suspenders are well adjustable. The sturdy central closure keeps it all in place. So far during some extended rain they have kept me dry. They also seemed to breath. The pants are intricately lined, the thighs by webbing for ventilation, and the bottom seems intended to keep extra warmth. On the downside. The lower ends of the legs are ridiculously wide. I am really wondering why, because for putting on the pants they are pointless as they have the side-zippers. Maybe it is because of the other shortcomings. They are very short too! And then they get pulled up a lot when bending my legs, probably because of all the lining, and maybe the fabric not being very flexible. I also wondered whether it would be better with less lining as that makes the pants pretty heavy while one can wear some clothing of own choice underneath. Then there are the typical Decathlon not-so-clever-clever-details like loops inside the legs' lower ends. No bother, but they could just be left out.
Great fit. Great value
I've worn these while climbing Mount Fuji. Perfect item, all you need is to KNOW what you get. Don't expect a radiator, cause it's not. It will not keep you warm, as it's not intended to. Got some rain in Japan plus few high winds and rain in UK, while fishing. I've never been disappointed by these. As my review targets the product, I have to mention that on the negative side of it the stitching on my product was wrong. Due to this problem, the product ripped apart. I've exchanged it, no problem at all, and thank you Decathlon for that, but I came back to buy the same product and... its price is now higher. As my product was defective, according to the receipt I got, I would expect to get another pair at the same value... I am not afraid to purchase it again. As a Quality Control Manager I know that the product is fine, only that my pair was stitched wrong. I would rise the rating if Decathlon could offer me the same price for it, as the initial price paid. Thank you.

Wore these for the first time in poor weather conditions with snow and hail coming horizontally and gusting up to 50mph. A joy to wear the braces being a good idea so you weren't adjusting or pulling them up every five minutes. Extremely breathable and keep all the rain out.
Good product
Very comfortable. Very Easy to wear and remove with shoes on. They are truly waterproof in heavy rains too. I’m using these daily to my office commute on motorcycle for more than a month now and they served me really good. The straps are also comfortable to wear and are detachable as well. Zippers used are premium quality. Pockets are also water proof but I never risked to put my phone or wallet in heavy rains. Since they aren’t breathable, it sometimes gets sweaty inside if you wear them for too long during rain.
It's a comfortable trouser you can rely upon in ur hike in any terrain..or you can even wear it while riding a bike..it's a waterproof as well as durable..what can you ask for in this price... unfortunately the product is discontinued...would like to suggest to decathlon to reconsiderr it and tell the company for continuation of the product with new design and more developed feature...
I'm typing this while I'm still wet from the VERY FIRST TIME of using these in rain for MERELY 20-25 MINUTES on a scooter on open roads at 2.30 am. Outer material is water repellent but these leak very badly from the Crotch and Pocket (both sides) area. It wasn't even raining too heavily. I've always been a fan of decathlon products and recommend to many (last year's hiking jacket is still holding up well) but this time I'm Highly Dissappointed.
Thank you for your feedback on the Forclaz 100 Waterproof Hiking Trouser. We regret the unpleasant experience you have had with the trouser. This over trouser is designed to protect you from rain, wind and snow while you are hiking in the mountain, but I am sorry to inform you that this is not suitable for riding a bike because hiking requires a fabric which stops water but allows breathability to stop the user from sweating. When it is used for bike riding, the water strikes the fabric with higher pressure and enters through the breathability pores which is not the case when you are hiking. However, If you are not satisfied with the product you can visit any of our stores for an exchange or refund.
I remain available if you need any further help.
Sportingly,
Varun Nair

Recommended additional product
Care products: waterproofing spray or liquid in the machine To renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimize performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.
Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed as a water column of mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours).
Waterproofing
This garment has been shower-tested using 26 gallons of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains.
Component with membrane or coating
Coating: like a layer of "paint" applied on the underside of the fabric to make it waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane: is like a very fine plastic film (polyurethane) making the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the edge, being more supple, lightweight, durable and often more breathable than coating.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
Breathability
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops high-tech solutions (zippers, ventilation, mesh, etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its hiking jackets and overpants. These ventilation systems allow you to regulate the temperature inside the garment and also to facilitate the transfer of perspiration generated by the body during physical effort.
Water repellency
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every three washes). All Quechua overpants benefit from a waterproofing treatment.
