Designing Issue.

So I have been using this backpack as my home. Used it for 365 days straight almost in every terrain and weather conditions. My backpack weighed around 13 to 14 kgs. I will definitely appreciate the quality and toughness of the backpack but the main issue comes up with the sybium technology, the waistband which is the main feature of the backpack so when we walk the waistband rubs itself with the shock absorbers which ultimately tears off after a time and then the strap below it and the moving effect of waistband also destroys the backpack from below due to the rubbing and friction. So basically it digs it's own grave. And there's no warranty on wear and tear so basically no way out.

awesome bag

The features of the bag is awesome

Same Model-Different Bags Have Different Problems

Received a 2018 imported bag which has loose elastic straps and bottle holders, 2 rain covers- both lack convenient design, wrongly stitched detachable hood. Went to Decathlon Saltlake, WB today and inspected 2 bags of this same model- 1. Imported in 2019- this one has straps in detachable hood instead of butterfly locks. Detachable hood Doesn't have the belts to use it as a sidebag which 2018 design had. So, the detachable 10L hood is useless, can't carry in any way. 2. Imported in 2018- this one is same as the bag I received but this doesn't have any rain cover inside. Section employee says I have to purchase rain cover separately, for a 9999rs bag which should have the rain cover includes, as per description. He says design changes every year. Totally disappointed.

Hello Souradip

Thank you for taking out time to give your valuable review. We in Decathlon listen to our users and their needs and use that information to continuously evolve in design and technicality. Like our sport expert in the store explained it to you the detachable good is a new deign and that is why it is slightly different from your 2018 model.

Please feel free to write back if you have any further queries.

Old & Probably Used Bag Sent To Me & 2 Raincovers

I have received this backpack Last evening. And I have some concerns about it. 1. The bag was covered with 1 cm thick dust from top to bottom. The tag says it was imported on 01/2018 (see attached picture). So, the bag was stuck in the godown for 2.5 years and was collecting all that dust and it was sent to me without even cleaning. I had to wipe all that dust before I could even examine it.  https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HiuW_Kna_9Mqgv27j1dYFwYz2TFgE20g/view?usp=drivesdk 2. The top flap CANNOT BE SEPARATED from the bag because the belt attaching it is stitched together at one end. One has to cut the stitch to detach it and use it as a sidebag. I've watched YouTube video about this bag and nobody says anything about it which means it's a manufacturing defect. 3. All the elastic straps (small and large) are loose. It feels like this bag was used before. 4. I've received 2 rain covers, 1 grey &1 dark green. Why? It's a 2.5yrs old bag so maybe 2 covers were provided in 2018? Watch the attached video. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HgHUfMjRcIJWtAZDKhrDYViXbjOjD9Zg/view?usp=drivesdk

Excellent quality

Quality is superb. The material is super sturdy. I am eager to put this on test during my next Himalayan trek and I shall update my review. One thing I didn't like about the 10L lid is, it can't be used as a 'backpack' as the straps are only on one side.

Was doubtful at first but am more than satisfied

When I was purchasing this product I was doubtful about its carrying load capacity as the back straps have a velcro attachment, but the bag performed very well on field and I never had an issue with the back straps. As for the capacity the bag has more than sufficient volume to store all the essentials and the ease of accessibility is as good as it can get. Also a bonus it has tilted bottle compartments for easily getting your bottle out and has a removable hood (capacity 10L) to be used as a napsack.

Fantastic Backpack

Very thoughtfully designed. The fabric used is very strong and cannot be worn out even if the bag touches the thorns or spiky bushes on the trail/hike. The Hood can be separated and used as a day bag. The space is larger than life. Using it for 17 days 480kms project and will be using it for 21 days Everest Base Camp and Annapurna 100 Ultra Trail Race. Adequate space for Tents, Sleeping bags, Yoga Mats. The back support has brilliant cushioning and a good snug fit so one doesn't get pain even if you hike for more than 7 hours a day. If you are an avid backpacker, this should be on your bucket list!

Just received it today... Very good product

I like this product its very sturdy and strong product and it has a complete detachable lid compartment of 10litre capacity like symbium.. It's other name is symbium 900 and trek 900 90+10ltr.. One thing i didn't like about this product is that it doesn't provide extra compartment at bottom for sleeping bags or shoes etc like Symbium70+10ltr or trek-700.... But the main compartment is very good and one thing i also want to little bit of overpriced....

A huge, comfortable bag for the ultra backpacker

Carrying around huge loads is a breeze with this Symbium 90+10. What would take 2 50l bags can now be done with 1 and with room to spare, all while being competitive with more expensive bags from REI and the like. Easy recommendation !

Capacity

Expandable volume: 90 L + 10 liters extension (5192.1 in³ + 610.2 in³) thanks to adjustable-height upper lid. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: We fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container to establish the equivalent volume in liters, within a few percentage points

Weight

6.2 lbs The empty weight indicated is the weight of our standard TREK 900 90+10 L model. There may be slight variations

Dimensions

How do i pack my backpack?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent can be placed under the bag if there's no room inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece at hand. In the pockets, place small items for the day (sunscreen, map, glasses...). The water bladder should be placed in the specially designed compartment normally found down the back of the bag.

Why are our rain covers gray when some backpackers would prefer bright colors?

The gray-colored cover used for our backpacking backpacks is neutral and therefore uses less dye. The component is made of BITON: this process helps us limit our carbon emissions and reduce water pollution and consumption compared to colored models. Through these kind of small steps, Forclaz demonstrates its commitment to reducing the environmental impact of its products.

Symbium technology

In order to be comfortable, a backpack must also be well-balanced while you walk. Symbium technology consists of a hinged waist strap that allows the backpack to adapt to the trekker's movements when hiking. Symbium technology means an end to the instability and see-sawing that puts a strain on the backpacker.

10-year warranty

Our engineers have carried out simulated aging tests on these backpacks. These tests were conducted on the components, seams and finished product. The results of these tests allow FORCLAZ to guarantee their bags for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt
