Product Customer Reviews

Bought this to replace a £90 waterproof jacket that was in no way waterproof - from a competitor. Thankfully this is a far better jacket! The fit is great, I'm 5ft 9 and bought a small. The length is very good, the sleeves are plenty long enough to cover my wrists when I'm cycling to work and the pit-vents are well placed. The jacket comes up quite high on my face when zipped up, but it's very cosy and the adjustments on the hood work really well to hold it in place in the wind. The chest pockets are easy to use whilst wearing a backpack with waist and check straps. The zip is a bit fiddly though and I didn't expect the zipper to be in 2 parts - not sure I've ever wanted to unzip a jacket from the bottom. The zip is becoming easier to use as it gets a bit more worn in, but it's not a feature I'd ever look for in a jacket. There's also no peg-loop inside the jacket and the one on the outside that rolls the jacket up wasn't sewn in very well and has come out. A peg loop on the inside would have been helpful for hanging up me jacket. Despite the minor niggles it;s a great jacket and I'd buy another one if this ever gets torn.
Bought a L which fits everywhere but the length. Is waterproof but water just ran down my trousers since the jacket is too short.
This is a nice jacket that fits well. But the arms are a bit, quite a bit too long. At first I thought I got a size too big, but it fits properly on the shoulders. I’m not upset, because on a wet day I can release the cuffs and let it drop over my hands, you see, I hate wearing gloves.
This jacket is excellent! Completely waterproof while being relatively lightweight. The sleeves are very long although the jacket itself could be a little longer.. Im 6ft4 and bought a 2XL. The hood is fantastic, the string allows it to hold properly around your head and the zip comes up nice and high.
rain water leaking inside through front zip. not a perfect design for rain and particularly for those who ride moto bike.
Super
I tried it at Decathlon store . Fits well and material quality is quite good. Waiting for clearance sale for this jacket
The best hai there is no complaint
I had this dire need of a waterproof as well as windproof jacket because weather in North Bengal (LAVA LOLEGAON RISHYAP) is totally unpredictable. I have extensively tested this jacket against the weather elements and this one serves the purpose truly well. Trust me, you are getting what you are paying for and REMEMBER, never compromise on a proper Rain Jacket if you are hiking in the mountains for a longer period of time.
Love the color! But it's a bit too expensive. Underarm zippers don't seem useful enough. I hope they can add more pockets that are also waterproof. But it really looks nice, looks durable, and it also keeps me warm in cold rainy weather. Glad I was lucky enough to get the last one in my size.
Výborně chrání před deštěm a větrem.
Je to velmi povedený kousek, i když něco stojí. Doporučuji pro velmi kvalitní materiál i provedení.
Bunda je v podstatě zcela nepromokavá a má vynikající odolnost proti větru. Potěšila dobře nastavitelná kapuca s kšiltem a odvětrávání v podpaží s oboustraným jezdcem zipu. Materiál je poměrně tuhý a nený téměř vůbec prodyšný. Vlhkost se vysráží na vnitřní straně bundy. Používám zejména v zimě a v létě pouze místo pláštěnky.
Jenom by to chtělo delší suchač na upnutí rukávu
Bunda je lehká, ale materiál vypadá, že něco vydrží. Dobře umístěné kapsy, super tvar kapuce, jsem spokojen.

Waterproof rating of the fabric
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is expressed in terms of the height in mm of a water column that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Here are the waterproofing values of the Trek 500 jacket: 25 000 mm before washing for the lightest fabric (11 000 mm after 5 washes) 20 000 mm before washing for the strongest fabric (17 000 mm after 5 washes)
Water resistance of the jacket
The waterproof of the overpants was tested under a shower of 450 L/sqm/hour of water for 4 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a thunderstorm in the mountains.
Breathability of the fabric
To find out if a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance RET (ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more the water vapor evaporates, & the higher the fabric's breathability. We consider that: RET < 9 = very breathable fabric * 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric. Here are the breathability values of the Trek 500 jacket: > Most durable fabric:RET < 12 (or 8 lbs/sqm/24 h, standard JIS1099A) > Lightest fabric: RET < 8 (or 6.6 lbs/sqm/24 h, standard JIS1099A)
Water-repellent properties info
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its ability to let water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water, and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. Water repellency can be reactivated by tumble drying the pants in the dryer for 10 min on low temperature. You can also use the FORCLAZ re-waterproofing spray (ref 855490)
