I love this pair, shoes are very comfortable inside and sturdy outside. I even wear it on regular days in all season.
Good product fits well
Ok, but realized today that grip is not good enough for wet ground
Have used these shoes for 4 easy to moderate treks/hikes and they have performed pretty well. The outer sole is hard and inside is quite soft. They keep your foot solid and doesn't let it twist. The grip is also quite good. All in all good shoes for amateurs and slightly experienced hikers..
Outer sole of
- 50% Rubber - Synthetic
- 50% Ethylene vinyl acetate
- 40% Polyester (pes) - Recycled
- 60% Polyurethane
Lining and sock of
- 100% Polyester (pes) - Recycled
This sole’s design is the result of long-term research carried out in our labs. We favored a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and resistance. Since requirements differ for every person, we systematically seek the best compromise for hiking on off-road trails with loose ground, such as forest trails.
Our hiking shoes are designed for use on off-road trails. We choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to walking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) may lead to premature wear on your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.
These shoes are 26.6% eco-designed. During the development phase, we selected components that are more environmentally-friendly: - Upper (front of the shoe, flap and top of the shoe): 100% recycled polyester - Collar and tongue lining: 100% recycled polyester - Laces and loops: 100% recycled polyester - Insole: 85% recycled polyurethane foam and 100% recycled polyester lining - Outsole: 30% recycled rubber
Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
Try both shoes on, standing up, wearing the socks you use for hiking. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: - the heel seat - the front of the foot when going downhill Avoid all compression points when trying on. Feel free to walk around the store. Break in your shoes gradually on your first few hikes to adapt them to your foot.
You need to choose the right sock size for your foot to avoid any additional creasing in the sock: either because the sock is too big and there is too much fabric around your foot, or because the sock is too small and is pulled toward the inside of the shoe.
There are multiple factors that may cause blisters when you are walking: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your walking shoes.
Moisture must be effectively managed when walking: We all perspire, it’s bound to happen. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away the moisture from your perspiration. You therefore need to choose a light and breathable sock as well. If your boots are relatively waterproof, you will not make the same choice to protect you from the moisture of the rain: you need to opt for a sock that will absorb your perspiration then wick it as far away as possible from your foot.
These shoes offer a little breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. We advise you therefore to opt for the NH100 mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction under the sock that wicks moisture away from your foot. They are also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.
Our hiking shoes are guaranteed for 2 years. Our commitment? To offer you long-lasting products that you can use on all your off-road hikes and walks. Because the products we like the most are those with a story behind them that is still continuing!
Thanks to your feedback, we have improved the design and concept of the NH150 shoes. In this new model, we have added an EVA midsole (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) to improve your comfort when hiking by reducing how much you feel any small stones. We also worked on a "derby" shape to free the front of your feet. Finally, we changed the design to make it more current.
Our design team conceives, plans and designs Quechua products in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. The Forest of Fontainebleau or in Brittany for example. We walk on as many different footpaths as possible, in all weather conditions. This provides us with a great opportunity to discuss things, enabling us to obtain your feedback and prepare our future products!
We advise you to store your shoes in a place away from moisture and light and, if possible, with ventilation.
