Product Customer Reviews

As a more mature snowboarder, who just loves to carve but often spends time on the slopes with younger people who look to find interesting and sometimes difficult off piste, I couldn't believe how confident i felt on this new board, okay so the conditions were near perfect but at the price so was the board!.

A word from the product manager
We wanted a versatile board for those who are not attracted to the snow park. This board is suitable for on-piste use, without requiring excellent technical and physical abilities, unlike the Dreamscape 700 for example. So much fun!
Program and terrain
The All Road is the all-mountain board par excellence: 50% piste and 50% off-piste. You can go anywhere, on all types of snow, on groomed slopes, off-piste and on powder, as well as on crusted snow, because of its elongated front tip, made thinner to catch less. This is why the nose has this particular shape. Do not go to the snow parks: this board is not designed for modules or riding switch.
Directional snowboard
The shape of the board is directional--that is to say that the board has a front and a rear. It is not symmetrical; the tail of the board is slightly narrower than the tip; the bindings as well as the contact points with the snow are slightly setback. A directional shape offers better edge grip when turning, better control of the trajectory, and more acceleration on exiting turns.
Standard camber + rocker
All the advantages of both the standard camber (thanks to the board's elasticity, a standard camber serves as a spring to provide grip on all types of snow, edge-to-edge dynamism and recoil when coming out of turns) and the rocker (under constraint, the board's points of contact with the snow come closer together, making the board more manageable). The rocker elongates and raises the tip so that it can glide better over powder.
Medium, versatile flex
Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and back. The Bullwhip 500 All Road has a flex rating of about 3/5, which is average and versatile. It handles well when performing carved turns and is also forgiving of edging errors.
Versatile with medium torsional flex
The All Road 500 has a torsional flex, which is the stiffness of the board between your feet when twisting, of about 3/5 which is fairly stiff for good hold in curves, recovery coming out of a turn, and responsive edge transition. This makes the board suitable for advanced to expert levels, while remaining very accessible physically.
25 mm setback
The setback is when the contact points of the board on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the center of the board but shifted toward the rear. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. 25 mm setback = significant setback for directional boards. It provides better stability in turns and float performance in powder snow because the weight is at the tail of the board, which naturally makes the front come up.
Technical information
Mid-Wide size 163 cm Front width 302 mm. Center 265 mm. Rear 294 mm. Radius 9.5 m. Effective edge 1.064 mm. No. of inserts: 10 + 10 (3 possible positions per binding/20 mm between each/compatible with mini disc). Recommended stance: 550 mm.
Recommended bindings
2 possible choices: _ The Illusion 700 binding is an efficient traditional snowboard binding that allows you to benefit fully from the Dreamscape's capacity to tackle slopes, carving, and off-piste runs. The angle of the spoiler can be adjusted. _the Illusion 400 binding will be adapted to smaller budgets, but is as stiff as the 700, it just has fewer tightening options.
When should you wax your snowboard?
Wed'ze boards leave the factory waxed. They are ready to ride. They then require regular maintenance like all snowboards and skis: ideally requires waxing every 5 outings and at least once a year: - either at the beginning of the season to start with a very good slide - or at the end of the season, leaving the wax on to protect the base throughout the summer
What size all road 500 should i get?
choose a 6" or 8" (15 or 20 cm) drop (e.g. a person who is 5'9" tall should choose a board between 1.59 and 1.54 m in length). Because the All Road has a rocker, choose one a little larger. If you choose a shorter board, it will be easier to control. This is also advised for people who are light for their height. A longer board offers greater stability at high speeds. 158 cm (60-80 kg)=> from 5'7" to 5'9" 163 cm (75-90 kg)=> from 5'9" to 6' 168 cm (85-110 kg)=>5'11" and above
What is wide on a snowboard?
A "Wide" board is a board that is wider than normal to prevent "big" feet from touching the snow when turning at a steep angle, causing you to fall. From size 10 upward, it is best to choose a "Wide" board. We measure the "Wide" with the width of the board at the center. At Decathlon, we have defined them as follows: - up to 254 mm: normal board/shoe size US W 5.5 to 11 - from 255 mm to 264 mm: Mid Wide/shoe size US M 8 to 11.5 - from 265 mm: Wide/shoe size US M 9.5 to 14
Glide quality: sintered base
The bases are made of polyethylene using 2 different technical processes: - extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene - a sintered base, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) A sintered base is the Rolls-Royce of bases. The glide is really fantastic.
0% park: can i perform jumps with this board?
Yes. 0% Park just means that the technical features of this snowboard are not designed for freestyle riding: the board is neither short nor symmetrical at front and back, making it possible to perform all freestyle movements (rotations, jumps with a switch landing etc.) but it's not really the best board for that. However, on groomed slopes or off-piste, you can do all the straight jumps you like.
