Product Customer Reviews

Not happy with this running shoe. I ended up with calf and Achilles pain after running.
Hi Peter,
Thank you for your feedback on the KD500 running shoe. This running shoe has a lot of cushioning through the midsole and extra cushioning in the heel.
We recommend the kiprun long 2 if you're used to running in a more comfortable shoe with arch support.

If your feet roll in or out during your running stride, this shoe is for you. Calf and Achilles pain can occur for a variety of reasons, especially if you are used to one type of shoe and then switch to another.
Please see our helpful staff the next time you visit a Decathlon store for more detailed assistance in finding the best fit.
I hope this information is helpful, and we thank you for trying our Kalenji running shoes.
Kind regards

These trainers are so comfortable and lightweight, great resistance when walking or running that feels so good and look so good 👍
Lace tab broke after a few wears, show is surprisingly squeaky too
Very good shoes. Perfect for running.
I am tired of following up for my refund but no one is responding. Could you please refund?
very good very comfy last longer than i thought still going strong
Fantastic shoes, comfy for both short and long distance. Had my original pair I put 1000km running into before purchasing another pair. The first I relegated to walking duties and are now on 1800km and showing signs of wear as you would expect but are still going strong. Now onto my 3rd pair of these after reaching 1000km running with the second pair so can highly recommend the longevity of these.
Lightweight with good support, very comfortable. Early days yet but these feel like great running shoes.
Great quality for such a low price. Comfort and feel are comparable to branded shoes costing twice as much. Already recorded a PB on my second outing with these speedy light trainers.
Found this better than previous Kiprun shoes - early days but, so far, so good.
After good reviews ordered a pair a size bigger than my normal to prevent big toe issues, arrived without a box which seemed a little unprofessional and cheap. Composition of trainers is good, they are quite lightweight and stand out, support around ankle is quite high and has caused some discomfort over a long distance (1 Ankle).... only downside is with the extra bulge on rear of sole it makes trainer seem quite long and the extra doesn't seem to do anything.... because of the lightweight material used they do not keep the water out.... all in all a tidy trainer at a good price....Give em a try
I thought they might have a bit more bounce in them.
I bought these to replace/compare to my NIke Flyknit Zooms (which unfortunately have been discontinued) . They took a little getting used to as they sole does feel a little longer than my other running shoes. I've now ran with these for about 140km and honestly think its a brilliant shoe, almost comparable to my flyknits. Obviously doesn't have the carbon fibre plate. It does have a spring and energy return though as well as offering stability and support. Way above my expectations and look like they will hold the estimated distance going from the minimal wear on the grip. I'm used these mainly for road running, they hold the road and me together perfectly. I also love the colour as it matches all of my other running gear and if anyone sees me out and about they definitely know its me. Awesome runners, totally above and beyond any expectations!
I have returned these without testing them out on a run and got some Fast 2's instead, which suit my needs better. I found the KD Plus to be around 0.5 size bigger than previous running shoes i've had from Decathlon, and also look and feel long on your feet with slightly pointed toe shape and rear sole projection. I have wide feet but found the upper mesh around the toe box a bit limp and unsupportive too, but i can imagine it is good for ventilation as a result. Colour schemes are a bit 'marmite' too - hence I've gone for something else.
I've run around 150 miles in these now in the last 3 weeks - a great training shoe, feel comfortable and responsive on everything from recovery to tempo runs - would also make a good marathon race shoe for some. In my opinion, it's essentially a better version of the Nike Pegasus, a decent do it all trainer, will definitely be buying another pair (I have the grey version and really like the 'understated' looks).

The importance of the cushioning
To give you optimal comfort and performance when running, we concentrated our attention on the sole, which features 2 concepts:- K-Ring: a ring located in the heel to improve cushioning at the rear and spread the shock wave in order to provide effective protection for the body: joints, back, knees, etc.- Kalensole: improves cushioning by 34% and energy return by 25% when compared with conventional foam and lasts up to 1,000 km (620 miles).
The comfort of the kd500
In order to run regularly over long distances, foot comfort is of the utmost importance. So, we tried to improve the level of comfort with the following:- an ultra-comfortable 'half-slipper' upper- a thicker sole that provides enhanced cushioning at the forefoot- a revised forefoot area- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction
Rebound with each stride
Between the sole geometry and the Kalensole foam, the Kiprun KD500 improves propulsion (acceleration) with each stride. You can now make progress and improve your personal best times from 10 km (6 miles) to the marathon distance.
Why choose a lightweight shoe?
The research and development studies have shown that a lighter product improves running performance by reducing energy consumption. To design the KD500, there was no compromise in terms of comfort and durability and the decision was made to use lighter materials and an optimized sole design. As a result, The Kiprun KD500 shoe is 4% lighter than the Kiprun Fast.Weight: 9.4 oz in size 10.
Adapted to all types of strides
With the exclusive K-Only technology and denser foam located under the first metatarsal, you no longer need to know your stride type: over-pronator, under-pronator, or neutral)!A 6-month study conducted with the Luxembourg Institute of Health* showed that the K-Only concept suits all strides. The key figures of the study:- 372 runners- over 12,558 training sessions- 12,094 hours of exercise- 116,723 km (72,528 miles) covered
Excellent road-holding ability on wet roads and bends
Our sole is designed like a car tire for running performance without losing control in wet conditions. The new geometry of the sole combined with a new rubber material provides the Kiprun KD500 with excellent grip on wet terrain, even at top speed.
