Super

Which size should i choose for my endzone 500?
For Freestyle use, you can take a short board: 8" to 10" drop (e.g. if you are 5'8" tall, choose a board between 60" and 58" long). A smaller board makes rotations and tricks easier. A bigger board will be more stable at high speed and when landing jumps. 57.5" => 5'3" to 5'7" 59.4" => 5'7" to 5'9" 61.4" WIDE => from 5'9" to 5'11"
A word from the product manager
The Endzone 500 is the most lively board in our range. We wanted it to be easy to handle while also being a freestyle board: lively, maneuverable, fun, etc. We love this board but the bottom line is that you like it! Feel free to give us your impression through the customer reviews.
Program/terrain
The Endzone 500 does not carve as well on pistes as the Allroad 500, but it is really lively in snow parks as well as for rail lines, on the flat or for jump lines. On piste, it is very maneuverable in tight turns for lively snowboarding beside the pistes. With its flat camber, rocker and soft torsional stiffness between the feet, it is suitable for very good riders seeking a lively board as well as for genuine beginners interested in freestyle.
Twintip snowboard
The shape of the snowboard (shape) is TwinTip. The sidecuts of the board are completely symmetrical between the front and the back, providing perfect symmetry and centering of the board's characteristics so that you can ride in both directions in the same way. A TwinTip shape also provides complete balance for rotations on the ground and in the air.
Flat camber + rocker
A flat camber offers the best compromise between the edge grip and pop of a standard camber and the inverted camber that offers maneuverability in rotation yet relatively low edge grip. It is perfect for freestylers in snow parks and beginners because: - the flat camber provides stability on modules or on piste - the rocker is forgiving in snow parks and on piste because the 4 corners of the board do not touch the snow when the board is laid flat.
Soft and forgiving flex (2/5)
The flex is the stiffness of the board along its length. The flex of the Endzone 500 is about 2/5, which is soft and forgiving. This type of flex is very even from the front shovel (nose) to the rear shovel (tail), which offers you very reliable and predictable behavior in turns. The flex aimed at freestyle use makes it lively on the flat (ollies, nollies, butter, nose roll, etc.) But it is also suitable for beginner snowboarders.
Soft and forgiving torsion
The torsional stiffness, i.e. the stiffness of the board to twisting between the feet, is about 2/5 on the Endzone 500, which makes the board easy to handle and turn and is forgiving of mistakes. A soft torsional stiffness gives freedom between the feet. This is important for a beginner rider: tolerant of edge mistakes. The soft torsional stiffness is also suitable for freestyle, jib or flat use. Perfect for shredding!
0 mm setback
The setback is when the contact points of the board on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the center of the board but shifted toward the rear. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. 0 mm setback = given that there is no setback, these Twin Tip boards are completely centered for riding in both directions but also to be balanced when rotating in the air and on piste.
Recommended bindings
With the Endzone 500 binding, the board + binding combination delivers consistency and a matching design.
When should you wax your snowboard?
The Decathlon snowboards are supplied already waxed. They require regular maintenance just like all snowboards: ideally requires waxing every 5 outings and at least once a year: - at the beginning of the season to start with a very good glide - at the end of the season to protect the base throughout the summer
Glide quality: sintered sole
The bases are made of polyethylene using 2 different technical processes: - extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene - a sintered base, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) A sintered base is the Rolls-Royce of bases. The glide is really fantastic.
What is the wide in snowboarding?
A "Wide" board is a board that is wider than average so that "big" feet do not dig in the snow when turning at a steep angle, causing you to fall. It also increases floatation in powder snow. From size 10½, it is advisable to take a "Wide" board. We measure the "Wide" by the width of the board at the center. At Decathlon, we defined: - up to 10": normal board - 10" to 10.4": Mid Wide - from 10.4": Wide
