To better cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), the Free 300 pants were rigorously developed and assembled to prevent water from entering and to feel the wind less. The pants were placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a snowboarder may have to cope with, to check they are watertight. Finally, we wore them for several days' snowboarding under all conditions to validate this waterproofness.

Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. The Free 300 pants are made from water-repellent materials to prolong their resistance to bad weather. This is an additional hi-tech solution for staying dry for as long as possible in parks or backcountry. You need to repeat this treatment regularly using the products sold in our stores for it to remain water-repellent.

The coating is a waterproof substance that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapor produced by an active body to escape. This allows you to stay dry for greater comfort in use!

The pants membrane consists of a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in, while allowing perspiration produced by your body to escape. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry longer.

As well as the waterproof material, we use sealed seams to make the Free 300 jacket more waterproof. These are waterproof adhesive strips fixed to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These taped seams are present on the areas most exposed to snow.

We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material containing polyester that captures more or less air depending on the size of the fibers. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or siliconized, each offering different properties (warmth, lightweight, supple, etc.).

We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.

Breathability is the pants' ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. Wed'ze uses materials that help prevent condensation inside the garment.

To keep the bottom of your body warm and dry, we recommend using the 2-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 2 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your undergarment or tights produce and retain warmth. As for your snowboard pants, they protect you from bad weather. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.

Our pants have elasticated gaiters at the bottom that cover the boots. If you fall or ski in fresh snow, the seal created by the gaiter keeps the snow out.
