Perfectly fit and keep me warm throughout the 6hrs in the water.
First of all, thank you very much for your feedback on our products. In Decathlon, we believe that to get this kind of information from our users is the best way to improve what we are doing.
I'm also really happy that you enjoyed using the 500 Men's 3/2 mm Neoprene Surfing Wetsuit - Blue. I will feedback this to the product engineer for them to take note in their next product design.
Again, thank you for the feedback, don't hesitate to come down to one of our store in Singapore. It will be with big pleasure that we will welcome you !
Went to Singapore Lab to select a proper fit wetsuit. Staff is friendly and helpful. I used it for scuba diving in tropical open water. Did a few dives and wetsuit is really comfortable. It's able to insulate and really flexible in the water. Only small defect I had is the small velcro to stage the velcro tab 'when zipper is open', it came off along with it's glue tape. It does not affect the overall function but can be improved.

I bought the xl and I am 6'01" and 15st. It fits really well and the quality is great. Used it daily in the sea for a week and it's the best wetsuit I have owned. Warm, not overly restrictive and so warm. A great buy.
Super matériel que j'utilise depuis 1 an.
Bon produit.
bon qualité prix

The first selection criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year. Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Warm water above 68°F. Temperate water between 62 and 72°F. Cold water between 53 and 62°F. Very cold water between 44 and 53°F. Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
The 2nd criterion to take into account is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models will be suitable. For up to 2 hours, opt for the 500 models and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models. Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be warmer (and more watertight) and more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models compared with the 500 models. NB: the 900 models are easier to put on.
To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A surfing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. When dry, it is perfectly normal to feel like it is too tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the wetsuit gets wet. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal insulation will be reduced (letting in water). Try it on before you buy it!
By trapping a thin layer of water around the body, a neoprene wetsuit works in two ways: 1. The trapped water gradually warms up; 2. Heat transfer from the body decreases. The wetsuit and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.
Tribord 500 wetsuits are made of 100% neoprene to ensure optimal thermal insulation. The neoprene is lined with synthetic fabric for added resistance to wear. Neoprene thickness: 3 and 2 mm. Neoprene is a closed-cell polychloroprene elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials.
The neck finish has been developed to limit irritation. According to the sensitivity of the wearer, a UV top can be worn under the wetsuit to reduce the risk of irritation. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms, knees) is also recommended if wearing the wetsuit for long periods. Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zipper and the neck.
The Tribord 500 men's wetsuit collection has a cut and materials designed to increase freedom of movement and make paddling easier. The arms and the top of the wetsuit are made of super-stretch neoprene to make paddling movements easier. All the seams are stretch seams.
Our zippers and fastenings are laboratory tested in order to ensure an optimal lifespan and good resistance to salt water. We have put the zipper at the back of the wetsuit for more comfort during surf sports (when lying down to paddle).
The seams are stitched and glued to ensure a watertight seal and durability. The seams are "blind-stitched", which means the thread does not pass through the entire thickness of the neoprene and so prevents water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Patches for comfort and reinforcement are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
We have added a windproof panel on the chest of the wetsuit (Fine Mesh smooth neoprene) to prevent the shivering which can occur as a result of windchill when surfing, bodyboarding, windsurfing or kitesurfing. This component improves the thermal comfort of the wetsuit and reduces shivering.
When we are in the water, we lose more than half of our body heat through our extremities (feet, hands, head). Consequently, here are the recommended accessories: - in warm water and temperate water (>62°F) => neoprene low booties. - in cold water (53 - 62°F): High booties (boots) and gloves. - in very cold water (44 - 53°F): High booties (boots), gloves, hood and hooded top... Our wetsuits are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, sea wading or SUP (stand up paddle boarding).
Developed and tested by our design teams in Hendaye, France. The components used for this product are laboratory tested to ensure the best possible quality and durability.
In a dry, ventilated place. Avoid heat sources. To extend the life of your wetsuit, do not leave it out to dry in direct sunlight. Machine washing is not recommended.
Rinse with fresh water, do not machine wash, do not leave in direct sunlight as sunlight speeds up the aging process of neoprene.
