Breathable, light and warm

This jacket is awesome - used it for my ultra at night and kept the wind out and me warm - yet it breathes so doesn't get all wet inside

Waterproof but not reflective

I bought this jacket for my husband as he wanted a running jacket for the winter. He runs early in the morning so wanted one that’s reflective (as it’s often dark) and waterproof. It’s waterproof but not reflective. I mistakenly thought this was bright yellow / green and it’s actually a murky almost olive green with only a slither of reflective material on the chest. There’s a small patch on the back of the neck but if you’ve not got your hood up it can’t be seen so you’re not visible from the back in the dark. Good jacket for running in the rain but not entirely what I was looking for.

Waterproof

I ordered this to run 7km too and from work through the winter and I’m not dissatisfied,, even when it chucks it down for the half hour run I’m dry inside, it beads the water off and stops the wind, the hood is great and tight so doesn’t blow off your head in the wind and fits a woolly hat under. Brilliant buy .

Great value for money and looks good too.

I run a lot but despite this I've never bothered with a jacket because the cheaper ones just stop the breeze whilst the ones that actually stop the rain are often eye wateringly expensive so I've always opted to persevere and get wet. However, I saw this Evadict jacket and thought I'd give it a try. I've worn it about 5 times in very heavy wind and rain (I live by the coast). Everything else was soaked apart from my top half, which was bone dry - so far so good. I have a slim build and the fit is perfect with no flaps of excess material getting in the way when I run. The hood fits sung and doesn't blow off your head in strong head winds. I have only given this 4 stars and not 5 because I cannot comment yet on the jackets waterproof longevity.

Worth it

I used this on a really bad weather (heavy rain) and couldn't be happier with the quality and price. Definitely I would highly recommend this jacket. Plus it's so lightweight that I barely realised it was there.

Sweaty

Might as well have used a bin bag to run in. Not breathable at all, I just ended up getting soaked in my own sweat. A waste £55 which I could do without.

Hello Greg,

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback regarding the breathability of this product. Our product designers rely on our customers feedback in order to improve future models.

The breathability of this product is measured using a resistance evaporation transmission value (RET). The lower the RET value, the more breathable a material will be. Generally anything under a RET value of 6 is considered good for high activity levels. This particular model has a RET value of 4.9.

Unfortunately, for your needs it looks like you need a jacket with a better value than we can offer within our current range of waterproof running jackets.

From experience you would have to spend a considerable amount more for a waterproof jacket with a lower RET value.

Waterproof as promised

I'm 192cm and 105kg and glad that I ordered it against the sizing suggestion of XL. Went with 2XL and it fits ok, XL would have been too small. Ran in the rain and it is waterproof, as some other comments state there are issues with the breathability, but that should be expected from fully waterproof jacket. I would suggest long sleeve t-shirt underneath when running, as it feels a bit wet when sweaty skin touches the material. Other than that I think it's a great product for a good price.

Nice looking but a little lacking in performance

Nice looking jacket, fits well although for a trail jacket could do with a slightly longer tail to deal with water and mud splash. No adjustable hem means I does sit tight on your waist. Rear or chest pocket would also be good on a trail jacket for small essentials. Two side zipped pockets are ok but a little lacking in the storage department. Hood is snug but could be a little looser with toggles? Taped seams do their job, pretty awful weather today, heavy rain for a solid two hours running and the jacket was comfortable throughout. Unfortunately though, even with a long sleeve lightweight top underneath I still got pools of sweat running down my lower arms leaving me thinking I’d be better off with windproof rather than waterproof because you still get that boil in a bag feeling in that area. Likely it’ll be worn far more often before and after runs than during them and ideal for walks in the rain. Meets mandatory kit requirements for trail marathons and ultras but no more than average. Probably £15 - £20 overpriced.

Not great

Jacket is water proof but not at all breathable so not comfortable to run in unless it's cold out.

Breathability

I liked the product and accept breathability is a compromise. The added expense of some zip open air vents would improve the product immensely I believe. It does trap sweat badly.

Very pleased

After getting one too many soakings this winter I decided to invest in waterproof running jacket. After researching I ended up here. (All the big brand options are ridiculously priced). I've been using this jacket for a few weeks now and I'm not dissappointed. The waterproofing has stood up to some pretty hefty downpours without any leaking - a good hour's wet running is a fair test I think. The windproofing is also good on these cold, windy mornings. Yes, it can get a bit moist inside but I can't see how any fully waterproof jacket would avoid that, I think the ventilation is okay. Turn the jacket inside out to dry and it's fine. Size-wise, I'd describe the jacket as slim fitting, still enough room to move but not too loose - good for running in my opinion. We'll see how long the waterproofing lasts but so far so good.

Disappointed

Absolutely love Decathlon and have bought a range of items from bikes to compression socks and have, until now, not been disappointed. Unfortunately this jacket failed to meet my expectations in one key area: sadly it is not breathable at all. I don’t sweat a great deal but the inside of the jacket becomes damp very quickly when running in it. I have used it in a range of weather conditions and it does keep the rain and wind out, it fits well and looks good but isn’t breathable.

Looks good but not breathable

Jacket looks good, is light, fits well, is waterproof and windproof but is not breathable enough for medium intensity exercise. I have been running and played 5aside in very cold weather and it gets hot and sweaty in the jacket very quickly.

Not bad

Just been out for my first run with this jacket. Good size, flexibility and comfort. I’m just not convinced by it apparent breathability. After only 1/2 hour water was collecting in the sleeves and my wrists were wet. Not the nicest thing to worry about when I’ll be running for 4 hours plus. You could probably pay twice the money and get a better one.

Jurassic marathon

took it on the Jurassic marathon and was fantastic, great keeping the raion off and then packed away in pocket when the sun came out.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric

  • 20% Polyurethane
  • 80% Polyester cationic
  • 20% Polyurethane
  • 80% Polyester cationic

Waterproofing

The jacket is waterproof up to 10,000 Schmerbers thanks to its fabric, fully taped seams and waterproof zippers. This jacket has been validated in a shower test: the fabric can resist up to 10,000 mm of water pressure after 5 washes. In addition, this jacket has a bottom elastic fastening system for your comfort to limit the air getting in when you are cold.

Breathability

It is breathable (RET < 6) thanks to its membrane. To find out whether a component is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more the water vapor generated by an active body is evaporated, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / RET <12 = very breathable fabric / RET < 20 = breathable fabric / RET > 20 = low breathable fabric.

Easy storage

The jacket has 2 pockets for greater comfort, as well as a waterproof separate storage pocket (in the left-hand pocket) for storing your jacket in a bag after use, without getting your things wet.

Hood

The jacket has a hood with an elastic clamping system. It accompanies head movements as a whole and avoids you have to turn your head only inside the hood. A semi-rigid visor prevents water running down the front under heavy rain.

Collar

The jacked is equipped with a wide 'storm' collar to protect the back of the neck and also to keep trail runners insulated on long runs outdoors or on trails in bad weather.
