Product Customer Reviews

Good Jacket to keep you warm, but is a true size 2xl and not 3xl as listed on the jacket. I am a true 3X and it was a little snug.
Awesome packable synthetic jacket! This is very lightweight and packs down very small. I've brought it with me as my "puffy" on hundreds of miles of the Appalachian Trail, and the Camino de Santiago. Sometimes if I'm especially cold I'll also sleep in it as an extra layer. Its affordable and definitely worth every penny!
So, I'm someone who shivers like crazy whenever it went below 60°F in California. I used to layer up in a hoodie, a long sleeve and a T-shirt to get to school in the mornings and keep it on the entire day if it never warmed up. After joining the Army I was always sent to the hot + humid places (Oklahoma, San Antonio and Georgia) which were hot but kind of comfortable. Guess where I got stationed next...Fairbanks Alaska. When I learned that I was going to somewhere that stayed 0°F to -40°F half the year I instantly started my reseach on cheap but effective winter clothes which eventually brought me to Decathlon.com. Seeing that this jacket fit my criteria, I bought it along with a long sleeve. When I arrived in December, I was greeted with -55°F + Windchill (I think one of the coldest days in 2020?) so I immediately tossed on this down jacket with the long sleeve. I gotta tell y'all, I was ULTRA comfy and warm when I walked out those airport doors. For a month I didn't have a vehicle so I had to walk half a mile in constant -20°F to -40°F weather almost everyday which this jacket was able to keep me comfortable...my only regret was that I didn't have better gloves lol. My metabolism might've changed in the last 2 years but I highly recommend this down jacket!
Love this for hiking. Keeps me warm, feels lightweight and packable
Excellent synthetic insulation jacket/hoody. It has just right amount of insulation, and it's water repellent for everyday use or as a mid insulation layer for skiing/mountaineering. Will buy again if need to: you just can't beat the price. I got it on sale for $30. Similar products from big brands (like Patagonia, Arcteryx, Marmot, etc) cost in the hundreds $. Note about the size: it runs small. I would recommend to size up, at least 1 size. Note sure why the advertised size on the website uses UK/EUR sizes, while the US size is clearly written on the jacket size label (and it's more or less accurate).
When I was in Spain, I bought the yellow version of this jacket. When I saw that this jacket was on sale for $30, I couldn't pass it up. This time I got the black version. If you want a really nice 'puffer' style jacket at a great price, this is it! This jacket is amazing. The warmth to weight ratio is fantastic. It cuts wind. It has a hem cinch. The jacket is even packable. I don't think you can buy a better jacket for the money. Please be aware that these do run small. So, if you are an American, I'd order one size up! I am 5'10" and about 215 pounds. And, both of my jackets are 2XL, and they fit great!
Great down jacket for a layer - a windbreaker over top does a nice job of keeping me warm in most conditions. Fit is very good - I'm 5'10" 170lbs and the large is perfect. Put together well and good sized pockets as well.
Extremely pleased with purchase. I decided to go with men's jacket because my shoulders and torso lengths are longer, women's version always awkward. Easily stuff into its own pocket. Friends think I pay 5-6 times the sale price of $30. Even without the sale price, it's a good value. It's a practical play clothing, not a fashion piece. Still, it looks pretty good.
For the price (on sale for $30), this jacket is very nice. My backpacking jackets are expensive down and require delicate care. This jacket is warm, seems durable, and is affordable (replaceable). I can wear this jacket how and where I please, without coddling it. The jacket isn't full featured (no hood adjustments, no draft collar, cheap elastic cuffs), but comes with a lot for what you pay. There is a rudimentary waist cinch, hood, and zippered pockets. You can almost stuff the jacket into a pocket, but it's too tight to be good for it. A small increase in pocket size would make it work. For the weight conscious my Men's, size large weighs 13.65 oz./387 g.
Warm
Excellent Jacket
Use it all winter, very nice and warm
Nice fitting jacket . Super comfortable. Just right in providing enough warmth for a Sydney winter. Wearable in shoulder seasons as well.
Sized perfectly from using the chart. Nice lightweight jacket. Quality looks good so far.
Amazing jacket for the price!!!
Additional Product Information
Composition
Main lining
- 100% Polyamide
Main fabric
- 100% Polyamide
Padding
- 100% Polyester cationic
Durable materials
This polyamide fabric that uses 20 denier thread resists 20,000 cycles of abrasion. Martindale test, Standard 12947-2 Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 1.4 oz/sqm, 20 denier Lining: 100% polyester fabric 1.2 oz/sqm, mix of 15 to 20 denier threads
Thermal insulation
This down jacket has been certified for a comfort temperature of 21°F during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model wears a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3 mph wind. In our heat comparison tool, it represents 2 stars.
Technical information on the padding
We use 100% polyester fill (25% recycled). The wadding is made from silicone-coated spiral fibers that make it highly compressible and highly durable. Despite its low thickness, it has high insulation properties thanks to the air trapped inside, and remains lightweight. It remains warm even when wet.
Do you know why the inner lining of your down jacket is gray?
Because the fabric we use reduces CO2 emissions by 40%. The fabric used is innovative because it mixes a self-dyed black thread and an undyed thread. Compared to a classic dyeing process, this process reduces by: - 66% fine particle emissions (PM2.5) - 74% Eutrophication of fresh water - 68% eutrophication of sea water
Additional sustainable development information
On the Trek 100 black and Trek 100 blue models, the outer fabric uses a clean process known as dope dyeing (the thread is dyed before the yarn is woven) reducing CO2 emissions by 36%. More information: http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/
Water-repellent property of the component (not to be confused with the waterproofing)
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface; however, this property may deteriorate with use. In order to reactivate it, follow the guide: https://www.quechua.co.uk/advice/how-do-you-restore-water-repellent-properties-your-jacket-a_86426

A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire lifecycle using various indicators. An overall ABCDE rating is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing and contrasting products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative. More information: http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/
