Loft Power of the down/feather filling
For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the loft power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or more. The loft power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. So, the greater the loft of the down (the higher the CUIN), the more space it occupies, thereby trapping more air and the greater the thermal insulation.
The advantages of a duck down and feather filling*
The down's long-lasting loft power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking:
- Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers
- Ultra-low weight: for the same level of warmth, feathers are lighter than synthetic padding. This saves weight in your backpack
*As part of our commitment to using responsible production methods, we have decided to work only with RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified suppliers. This certification guarantees that the down and feathers come from ducks and geese bred for their meat, and not subjected to cruelty. Care instructions for padded jackets filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our advice by clicking the link below:
In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It causes water droplets to slide over the surface of the fabric, which means it takes longer for the water to get inside the jacket, giving you the time to find some shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
A rating for comparing the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators.
An overall ABCDE rating is given for easily identifying the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.)
Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information.

All our down jackets are laboratory tested in a 3 mph wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved t-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.

Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place
Caring for down jackets requires special attention. Dry cleaning is recommended for this down jacket. Machine wash at 86°F, add 2 tennis balls to restore the loft of the down. Rinse twice. Tumble drying is highly recommended: synthetic cycle with 3 tennis balls to restore the loft of the down; put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, which will reduce its insulating power.
