Poor fabric and no water-resistant .

I have been using this product for a good time but certainly it's a huge problem to see the rain pass through the seams and rather than the fabric having the water repellence , it absorbs all the water. I find it unacceptable for a product of this price range. It was difficult to find a small size for this one , still I managed to get one. But , this is all good with comfort and warmth with the scope of improvement in the fabric as it tears down relatively very easily. I did fixed it for myself because I wanted to keep it but now I feel that this certainly doesn't fulfills and regret to say that it didn't meet my expectations.

Not worth it

It doesn't worth the price. Definitely you can find better alternate in other brands

down and feather jacket excellent in extreme cold

This jacket fits to size. is extremely warm and light weight, waterproof. i have tested it uptil -9 degree celsius and this jacket has really kept me warm. superb in extreme freezing conditions.

How to get it repaired

I bought this jacket a month back n it's been really useful as I m working in -20 °c. But it got struck somewhere and got torn a lil bit and the feathers are coming out. Pls help.. how to repair it.

Filling comes out from everywhere

Best jacket I ever have... Very - very warm, affordable price , beautiful, nice fit (always order one size small) but biggest drawback is ' upper cloth is very thin, very weak ' , you should very - very careful when wearing it.. Too much fillings comes out from everywhere like you are working in a poultry farm.. Very disappointed...

Hello Deepak,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are really sorry to hear that the fillings are coming out. The outer fabric is designed to be lighter and be compact to take minimum space in your backpack. If the fillings are coming from one place you can push the feather inside and rub over the surface to avoid further loss of feather. However, if you see a large amount of feathers then it could be an issue. We would advise you to take it to any of our stores so that the team could help you.

I hope the information helps. You can write back to me for any further help: )

Love it!

Great product for just 80£. Very warm, absolutely light weight. Not found in the store, I ordered online an M size (usually I wear an L), it suits me perfectly. Maybe just a bit concerned about the fragility of the main fabric, but so far a great product, highly recommend and great value for money

Very warm and value for money

This jacket is value for money. Rolls into a nice little fluffy ball during travel trips. Keeps me warm at 0 degrees Celsius. Couldn't ask for anything more. I wear a 42 size shirt in India but had to buy M size of this jacket.

Excellent Product

Just excellent product. I used this product on a winter expedition to Ladakh where minimum Temp was -10C. It helps me to withstand extreme cold such as -30C.

Perfect for Iceland trip

I spent a week working and filming in Iceland at the start of March temp range -2C – -13C plus windchill. Great just out and about, then wore it under a Berghaus Goretex waterproof over a fleece and base layer while at altitude and never suffered. Minimal down leakage, didn't have any problems with fabric tearing as another reviewer reported. Only minor issue is pockets are slightly at the wrong angle so if you forget to zip them back up contents are at risk.

Excellent jacket

This is a really good jacket and well worth the money. Performs like a jacket twice the price. Usual thing with Decathlon, buy a size bigger (I'm a large and went for the XL - fits like a glove). don't concur with the earlier comments about the elbows. Not an issue. Only down side is that there are no toggles on the hood to draw it down and keep it there. Apart from that, just great

Great warmth but very fragile

This is a fanatically warm and comfortable jacket with surprisingly good water resistance. But it has onr major flaw. Apart from the areas reinforced with ripstop material, the main fabric is incredibly fragile. More fragile than any other down jacket I have owned. After just a few days of light wear an abrasion from the zip of the jacket itself caused a minor knick in the fabric and now feathers are leaking out. It’s potentially a great product but areas of the fabric are so fragile I’m afraid to wear it even in light day to day use. Now exploring repair options.

Inflating power of down/feather filling

For this down jacket with its 85/15 filling, the inflating power is guaranteed to be 660 CUIN or above. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling*

The long-term fill power of the down gives it the following 3 qualities needed for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and the feathers - Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic padding while offering the same degree of warmth. This enables less weight to be carried in the rucksack - Ultra compressible * Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat, we collect the feathers after their slaughter.

Care advice for a down jacket with down and feather filling

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our tips by clicking on the link below: How to wash and dry your down jacket

In case of rain

The material of this down jacket is water repellent. It allows drops of water to slide off the fabric which delays the penetration of water into the quilted jacket while you get out of the rain. The shoulders and hood of the jacket, which are more exposed to the rain, are waterproof. We nevertheless recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the quilted jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to the rain.

Product testing

All our down jackets are laboratory tested with 3 mph wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved t-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.
